Yeah... I've been 3 betting a alot of AAxx... so far it seems to be ok.
I'm shocked at how loose guys are. There was one guy that was playing 98/88 over 150 hands!! I'll probably play some PLO10 later
Be careful with that. There's good AAxx and bad AAxx and even a good DS AA OOP can be tough to play post flop when you miss the flop. I think there's a lot of advantages to limping in with it, one of the main ones being when you flop top set no-one really puts you on the AAxx and also cbetting isn't an effective strategy in PLO, especially when playing multi-way pots.
Sometimes I know, but for some reason I still can't fold.
Took a shot at 25nl zoom. Beginning was, well... it was not very pleasant. Took a break there after 600 hands to find out what the heck was going on. I found that the deck had been really cold (which I really cannot do anything about) and I had been looking up my villains too often when they were telling me to fold (which I can do something about). I guess I assumed that because it's 25nl everyone must be playing at a much higher level and therefore they make more sophisticated bluffs. This was not the case. Towards the end of the first downswing there was obviously also a bit of tilting going on. Then I pulled myself together, told myself that I should be able to beat this game and went back to the tables with better results.
Here's one hand where I really think I should have folded my AA. Villain was 15/12 over 140 hands, 5% 3bet over an insignificant sample. He also cbet flop 100% (9/9) so I decided to just call the 3bet pre and raise any flop as he very likely was 3betting light.
fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.75, fold, fold, BB raises to $2.25, Hero calls $1.50
Flop:($4.60, 2 players) 4 7 Q BB bets $2.50, Hero raises to $7.30, BB raises to $12.10, Hero raises to $22.75 and is all-in, BB calls $10.65
When he 3bets the flop I cannot call, it's fold or shove. His range is KK+ or sets here, not sure if he would 3bet the flop with KK every time though (not sure if he would 3bet 44 or 77 pre either).

WHY DID I NOT READ THIS BEFORE I PLAYED THIS HAND
villains are unknowns b/c I just sat down with them
****!! I hate poker, it's such a waste of my time and money Just spent the whole night getting absolutely crushed to **** once again. Last time I broke even due to rakeback. Once again started off running super ****, should have quit when I got 2 outered and been done with it. Ran more ****, was down a lot. Made some back, then ran ****, played bad and then just started playing like a spew monkey - I was 3betting people a lot and playing a ton more hands. It was kind of working out but then more run bad. Decided to quit with bankroll crushed once again. It's going nowhere and i'm getting fed up with this constant stuff. Just can't seem to run good for any period or even run neutral With so little time for myself, poker's not offering me much atm and just bringing bad things to my life.
Within first 10 hands of session this happened. I flopped 2nd nuts and was obviously trapping on flop. Of course it totally backfired on me with villain turning 2 outer
Decided to be a bit of a donk in position with Q379ds. That's 62% for me and I miss it all
meh....flopped the nuts. Trapped the donk and got him to get it in horrible shape. BINK! Hits one of the miracle 3 outers on me Post-flop AA donks always get rewarded....
I did have a little run good but it certainly didn't come easy. I had JJxx.
Yeah...this was nasty by me. One of the times I did get a bit of luck. I can suck out in big pots but not the standard 200bb pots. I still think it's pretty standard...
This did tilt me, it's about as good a flop as I could hope for. I was going to call the 100bb stack but then deep stack shoved and I really wasn't sure if my hand was going to be good. Would have been nice to win.
Ahh, so good to be back. Once more my email will chime regularly, and I'll feel popular again!
Been mainly playing Zoom, having cashed out the last of my roll on Minted (took 3 weeks but got there in the end). Still working through Zoom 5nl (17K hands atm) but am making profit there slowly so hoping to get up to 10nl this month when i have 20 BIs. I could deposit more and move up quicker but taking it as a challenge to myself and seem a great place to hone the basics again.
Played in the local Grosvenor live £110 monthly tourney, and bubbled the final table! It was a freeroll after winning entry with a high hand (quad nines!) in a previous £20 sat night tourney, but still pretty gutted that I didn't cash. Only made a couple of small mistakes along the way afaik and got it in good when i got busted so hey ho! It was my birthday a few days before, so woulda been a nice little score.
Got the bug for tournies after that and played two on PS the next day. Min cashed both, but when the buy-in is $1.10 a min cash aint much cop!
Goals for May:
[ ] Hit Zoom 10nl
[ ] Stay at 10nl
[ ] Learn to lay down premiums when you know they're beat
[ ] Stop eating cake/pudding with every meal!
Decided to go for some more PLO after my tilt off session about 4 days ago. I played ok, nothing too crazy, no major bluffs or tilt offs. Admittedly I ran pretty good in some spots. I did have a 2 outer beat for a medium sized pot but I didn't feel too bad considering the amount of sucking out i'd been doing. I got my rakeback today too which was quite a good sum for 1 session. Decided to cut it short as I thought i'd quit on a high for a change. Not sure how much I made but it's a win + rakeback will help.
Ups....bit of a horrible suck out by me. Big hand on flop though
Bit of run good at the € tables. I decided to jam it as I thought my equity wasn't bad multi-way + some fold equity. Flopped the nuts and had to sweat chops/flushes.
More run good for me. I decided to do a funky 3bet in position. When I get 4bet I hate folding considering I 3bet + position. Dream flop and got it all in.
I think this was the biggest hand of the night which I lost. Felt like the nuts on the flop. Maybe playing 3bet pots isn't such a great idea, especially when OOP
Pick the best 2 cards out of the 4 to play with 3 of the 5 board cards.
It hurts my brain...
Maybe I'll give it a go one day.
Don't know what villain was doing here, but it got a mediocre break even session into +$ so can't complain.
I thought he must have a Q - thought maybe he has JQ for a better FH, so made the hero call.
Actually he had bugger all - although strong straight draws.
