Hi,

I have just started taking poker seriously (mainly 6 max cash) and wanted to know what to filter my database for in terms of leaks. I have played about 30,000 hands and have come to the following conclusions:

I am not winning enough from the button only winning as much as from EP / MP. I am winning a decent amount from the CO.
I am losing too much in the BB but only a small amount from the SB.

The reason for me doing better in the SB than the BB is that I have been calling too much in the BB. When 3 betting the BB I'm performing better. I rarely call in the SB. So I'm going to 3B the BB more and avoid flat calling.

The reason I'm not performing well on the button I think is because I am 3B bluffing too much. I'm actually losing money when 3 betting the button (making money when 3 betting every other position including the blinds) so I need to 3 bet less for a bluff.

I am also not making as much money when opening on the button as I am on the CO. Therefore I feel I am opening too wide on the button and will try and cut this down.

What other common leaks should I look out for? What filters should I apply in my database? What else should I look out for.

I hope to update this page with other leaks I may find from others input.

Are you using HEM?

The quick filters are pretty useful.
I like (separately) running "3-bet", "called 3-bet", and "cold-call" frequently, and using the hand map/matrix while looking at the Position report, to see which types of hands work (or don't work) well in each situation.

FWIW, winrates by position can be heavily affected by variance over small samples. I once had a 40k stretch where I lost money on the button (due partly to coolers) and I often have 10k stretches where I somehow win in the blinds. :/

This.

I'm not honestly a big fan of data-analyzing my own history, as the samples are usually too small. And if I have a big sample, some of the hands are usually so old that my whole game plan has developed so significantly that making adjustment by the old data is useless.

What I do from time to time, is just checking some of my stats for example have I been cbetting too much lately after I've been changing up my cbetting thought process a bit. If I see that I'm cbetting too much or too little I _SHOULD_ open up notepad and check my thought process with couple of board textures and see if I'm completely ****ing up by balancing the ranges. Lately I've been too lazy with this , because been too busy CRUSHING zoom + some schoolwork xD.

What I would suggest is the notepad style. Just draw up some random flops, and start listing your valuebets, bluffs and checking range with your thought process and see if they are making sense and are somewhat balanced. If they don't, then start correcting your thought process.
