Just finished my first 10k hands

I just finished my first 10k hands playing $4NL 6max on Merge and wanted to share my results as well as get some feedback and advice for moving on. To kick it off here are my results and stats:http://i.imgur.com/qFPR1.png.

I am pretty pleased with my results thus far, even though it is hardly a dent in the grand scheme of things. I think most of my decisions are solid, but every once in a while I let an irrational "he cant have the flush" take over all while the logical side of my brain is yelling "don't do it, why would he have followed that line if he had anything else". This basically accounts for most of my sharp downswings. What really gets me is when people keep 3betting me. I find it hard to read when they are full of it or not. What gets me is when I feel like they are primarily targeting me when they do these 3 bet preflops. The other thing that is killing me is the rake. Over the past 10k hands I've paid nearly 40 dollars in rake.

I plan on moving up eventually, but I will stay at the $4NL stakes while I am working on some of the details of my game and control these small bouts of tilt. For the first 5k hands I was almost strictly 2 tabling, and have recently been trying 4 to 6 tables. I dont think i'll do much 6 tabling; I like being able to think through the decision and have time to do calculations. I have also been experimenting with loosening and tightening up positionally, which has made me overall more tight. My BTN/CO hands havent really changed.

Anyway any feed back and advice on eventually moving up to $10NL would be great. My BR is about 160 right now. My current plan is to play for a while longer until I hit 200(including rakeback bonuses, etc).

Also, I wanted to add that my main goal for poker is being comfortable enough to rock 1/2 live games in the next couple of months.

Re: Just finished my first 10k hands

your calling 2 much preflop
you should have less of a gap between your VPIP/PFR
your 3b should be higher as well.. maybe work on isolating fish with 3bs and more 3b bluffing against some regs that have a wide LP opening range
merge is kinda tough for cash tbh but u can do it just stick to solid BRM

1. Post your positional stats.
2. You are a bit too passive, raise a bit more or fold a bit more.
3. They are not targeting you personally IMO, your stats are not so outlandish that 4NL regs see you as an obvious target.

Your stats should vary a lot more from EP through to button. Fold quite a bit more UTG, you are too loose there. Open more on the button. You should be opening maybe twice as many hands on BTN vs UTG. Stop open limping, your UTG VPIP and PRF should be the same.

lol.

What I mean is, play more hands before you can start analyzing your stats and winrate. 10k is not enough of a sample size.

10K is plenty to do a basic analysis of stats. You don't need 50K hands to examine VPIP/PRF/3bet. Winrate is another matter of course.

Re: Just finished my first 10k hands

Are you sure people are 3betting you a lot or was that just 2 guys on one day? Anyway, start 4betting them. Calling large bets to find out you are beat is a fish mistake, dont do it. You should aim higher before moving up, try to get to $250 then take a 5 buyin shot on 10nl.
