If you like to play cash games start at 5NL ($150=30BI). I personally like playing zoom and you can get away profitably without a HUD fairly easily at micro. You can try out both 9 handed and 6 max, see which ever one you like best, but i find FH is nitty as hell. You can start that with 2 tables and move up to 4 easily once you get used to it. if you prefer SnG's i req you have at least 30 buy-ins or more if you don't feel like you currently have that big of an edge. you can play 4 of these min at a time no problem. glgl

Do you have pocket tracker? If not, I'd use half of my roll to buy the micros versian and grind two tables of 2n until you think you can beat it. The sample size should probably be 10 k + hands

How do you know you can beat it?
Results orientated thinking aside.

Re: June Beginners Bankroll Thread

you can beat 2nl by just playing straight forward poker. don't bother trying sick bluffs and **** like that you'l get looked up by donks. go for value and build your roll from that.

If you have a ridicules win rate like 4+ pt BB/100 over a sample size of 20 + k hands, I would say you are "crushing" the games you're playing and should seriously consider moving up even if you don't have the standard "40 buy in+" bankroll requiirments or at the very least consider shot taking.

I'm in a similiar situation playng PLO but I'm too much of a bankroll nit to take my own advice and move up quickly

Do as I say not as I do

My understanding is that at microstakes CAP it is pretty much impossible to beat the rake. There are a few winners (handful) at high stakes who beat the game, but the majority who make any money at it are losing on the tables but are coming out slightly ahead after rakeback.

It's obviously not going to be good if the higher stakes affects your play. I've not been running super-hot (about 6 BI below EV at the moment) over 25k hands since I started playing seriously, and with a 12ptBB/100 winrate I still struggle mentally with 4NL. XD

Is it that big a deal if you lose 4 dollars? Really? Its 4 dollars, get over it lol

I think I'm going take my own advice

11 K hands 13 pt BB/100 at PLO5
