After four conesecuative months of run absolutly gash (A good portion of which was at Zoom and thats just not my kind of thing. And some time at microgaming which is clearly rigged), its time to put things right.
With A BR starting at $1,450 this month, my goals are as follows:
[ ] Play (8) full ring normal tables exclusivly. No zoom!
[ ] Continue reading Dynamic FR and watch Splits vids that i bought (Also, he has 4 of his vids on sale for $10 each right now on his website for those interested. I would recomend)
[ ] 40-50k hands this month - Could be tough, but if I can get in the habbit of grinding about 2k hands a day (Which will be much easier If im not running like dog), it can be achieved.
[ ] RUN GOOD
[ ] Gold star would be nice - Currently picking up 0.05vpp/hand on average at 25NL FR which seems a uber low figure (60k hands) - may have something to do with the horrible fact I'm complelty card dead right now.
[ ] It would be nice to achieve a WR of about 4bb/100.
So expect a **** tonne of bad beat stories and gif enhanced coolers untill my luck turns...
Session 1 - Sole crushingly dull BE session lasting an hour and a half (1k hands) - complelty card dead.
And like the past god knows how many sessions, ended with a couple of coolers.
Preflop: Hero is BB with K K
UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls $0.25, 4 folds, SB completes, Hero raises to $1.25, MP1 calls $1, SB calls $1.00
Flop: ($3.75) 7 T 9 (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2.25, MP1 raises to $5.25, SB folds, Hero raises to $43.47 and is all-in, MP1 calls $8.11 and is all-in
Okay, so back on the lappy, as promised (fugly) June garf:
Started at 5nl for a couple of thousand hands, rest is 10nl. Ran like crap, which is real tough when you're just moving up and trying to make it stick.
On the upside, was part of the winning team in the BQ Bhunla comp so just pocketed a much need $50 odd bucks as a roll boost. Was great fun, made some good contacts, and even may have learned a little along the way. I had a respectable 2/2 record, which considering I'd never played HU before, I felt was ok and more importantly, didn't let the team down
So June's goals were:
[ ] Make move up to 10nl stick
[x] Get in more volume (play 4tables again)
[x] Look at stack sizes before raising/3betting
[ ] Move up if I hit 20BIs for next level
[ ] Stop eating cake/pudding with every meal ldo!
Sooo, not such a big hit last month then. 10nl hasn't stuck, but I've spent a lot of time in study and review and plan on coming back strong. My thanks to Seoulken for the stat review.
Therefore, July's goals are fairly similar:
[ ] Get to 20BIs for 10nl
[ ] Make move up to 10nl stick
[ ] Spend more time on study/review
[ ] Retain silverstar as a minimum
[ ] Keep eating cake/pudding coz it's the best part of the meal ldo!
[] 30k hands at fr 10NL
[] Remain SilverStar
[] Hit $750 on Stars to start shots at 25NL
[] Limit PLO playing, especially when tired
[] Post more hands with analytical value
[] Start updating my poker blog again and add actual decent content to it
June's results (see if you can find where I switched to FR :/)
Are you sure he was 30/1? Just because you can't have a 1% over that sample size.
Anyway, hero shoves as lots of worse hands will call but hero can't call a shove as these worse hands will probably check behind. Fairly thin but +EV IMO.
June really positive month for me, I played the best and most consistent poker I have ever played, it's been a long time getting to grasp with NL2 for me, but I think I am getting there. Ive previously beaten it, but having enough to move up to NL5 again if I want for 100BB helps me confirm that I can do well at this level.
Goals for July
Actual Goals
Play 50k Hands
Gain Silver Star
Increase Bankroll to $250 20x12.50 for NL5
Nope, runbad is back. Down 2BI. The usual. Dealt AhAd, flop comes 9TJccc, bet and a raise. Flop a set vs spewtard on AJ7, the one time he doesn't get FPS vs a cbet... Eh, I'm due some rungood after all this. One hand I'm wondering about. Vil is 80/20 over ~40 hands, fold to flop bet is 0/4, to turn bet is 0/3, to river bet is 1/6. Classic calling station. River is standard right? Flop bet is for value obv. and call pre is because I think I can get 3 streets of solid value by pairing my ace:
River:($1.46, 2 players) Q Hero bets $1.76 and is all-in, UTG+1 calls $1.62 and is all-in
Spoiler:
Hero shows A 4 (Straight, Five High) (Pre 57%, Flop 59%, Turn 3%) UTG+1 shows K 6 (Straight, Six High) (Pre 43%, Flop 41%, Turn 97%) Hero wins $0.00 UTG+1 wins $4.47
Also, is this a bad spot to steal? My thinking was that people play straightforwardly in MWP and board is pretty scary so any strong hand would've led out:
