Beginner here, and I need your thoughts

5NL9max ignition

Hero stack 14.67 Dealt Q Q EP3
MP2 4.81 53/7 (15 hands)
LP1 481 33/17 (30 hands)
BUT 3.74 75/8/7.7 3bet (24 hands)

(I'm not sure if this goes without saying, but these stats include this hand, not sure how to display the stats I was seeing at the time...)

EP1 and EP2 are empty

PRE-Hero opens .15, F, MP2 C, LP1 C, BUT .45, F, F...

BUT has 3bet .45 into a .52 pot. I see him as a maniac, playing almost every hand, but he has yet to 3 bet, only has 1 PFR, and is down in chips. I find this tiny 3bet very peculiar. But right now we are 4 way and it is time to make a decision. I'm fairly sure I made the wrong one here.

PRE (cont)- Hero 4bet to 1.20, MP2 F, LP1 C, BUT AI 3.74...

Is a small 4bet with QQ a good play into a maniac and a cold caller? Now LP1 has flatted twice and I've got him pretty well capped at JJ, AQs at best.

BUT 5bet jams here so of course he has a hand. 2.54 to call a 6.36 pot with the possibility of LP1 tagging along. LP1 has 1.07 more than BUT, so I've got a small safety net if he does, and if not, we have 1.42 dead money in the pot.
I now put BUT on a range of KK+, AK. So thats 12 combos crushing me and 16 put us to a coin flip.

PRE (cont)- Hero C, LP1 AI 4.81, Hero C

I make the call here to give LP1 a little more wiggle room to call with the intention of putting him AI on any flop.
I am deep stacked here, and not so sure I would have played this hand the same with only 100bb, but so far I have contributed 4.81 to possibly flip for 13.58(minus rake) with a safety net of 2.14(also minus rake)

I have been thinking about this hand all night, and my first post analysis instinct is that I really should have been looking to see a flop. Knowing what I know now, I could have easily done that with a flat on the 3bet.

I want to know what you think! Thank you for any response.
cheers

Spoiler:
3 players all in PRE
LP1 turns 7 7
BUT turns A A
Board 4 8 Q 8 7

Have you run ranges through Equilab?

Yes:

Worst Ranges
Hero = QQ: 33.72
CO = JJ-88, AQs, KQs: 16.9
BUT = KK+, AK: 49.38

Reasonable Ranges
Hero = QQ: 36.41
Co = JJ-88, ATs+, KQs, AKo: 17.06
BUT = KK+, AK: 46.54

Bluff Ranges
Hero = QQ: 42.58
CO = 88-JJ, AJs+, KQs, AKo: 19.99
BUT = JJ+, AJs+, KQs, AKo: 37.44

Actual Ranges
QQ: 18.59
77: 16.33
AA: 65.07

It seems to me, the more reasonable the calling range for LP1 i.e. giving him an A or a K, the closer my range gets to BUTs. And if BUT is a true maniac and we give BUT some decent bluffs, QQ is looking pretty good.

What do you think of my ranges?
And the smaller 4bet?
And playing this way deep?

You don't need to worry about the player(s) in the middle. They should never be playing for stacks if you call off, since they are so capped when all they've done is press the CALL button.
All you have to do is put the BTN on a range, and then see if you have the right price to call off. He's only 75bb deep and you said he's a maniac. I'm not 4b/folding to him, because AK/JJ or worse should be in his range, and you're getting great pot odds. (You have about 38% equity vs QQ+/AK).
If you're concerned he has you beat when he makes that weird small squeeze, just call in the first place. In that case, you want the other players to overcall, as you're basically just set-mining (trying to beat KK/AA) so you want as much dead money in the pot.

Cliffs: Don't 4-bet to 24bb if you're planning to fold to a 75bb jam. If that's your plan, just call the 3-bet.
