This seems to be a situation that happens relativley often. I have tptk or double pair(like in this case) and possible flushes/straights hit the table.

I chose to bet every round as he could have called with AJ or AQ, around half the pot(was this to little?).

My reasoning on the river was that if I were to have checked I would have been inviting him to make a bluff and then I would have to make a hard decision of whetever or not to call.

Now he made the raise on the river and I thought it was a pretty easy fold as the only hands I see him doing that with are hands that have me beat like a straight or flush. I thought he most likely had something like AsJs.

How do you play these types of hands? Do you bet every round with hands like this even though theres possible straights and/or flushes on the table? Did I bet to small on the turn?

Because now afterwards I think that I should have made a bigger bet on the turn. Because if he did have the flush draw I gave him the right implied odds to call(I think).

I bet $0.40 on the turn, the total pot was then at $1,17. His odds of hitting the flush was around 4-1... so $1.60 to $1,17 but he could probably assume that I would bet the river and that would make it profitable to call anyway. Is this correct thinking? But I'm also thinking that at this level he probably would have called even if I made a bigger bet.

Probably sigh/fold. Bet sizing seems key, he's clicked the pot button which is usually a good tell of "lazy player likes hand but CBA to think about bet sizing"

HATE river bet, hate it to bits!

So, what's wrong with checking the river then and calling his range of hands that includes a lot of bluffs?

You check, he bets 2/3rds, you call after pot controlling and see a showdown against a range of hands that now includes a lot of bluffs?

One question I have to ask: With your river bet, do you feel a better hand will fold or a worse hand will call?
