Hey guys, so I have heard that reviewing hands is a really important part of ones game but I am not sure how to go about doing it "successfully". I was wondering how you should critically evaluate hands as well as what you should be looking for in a hand?
Also what hands should you be reviewing, do you review your biggest losing hands, hands where you lost a marginal amount or hands where you won the maximum amount?-or all of the above?
Sorry if my post seems vague, will try to use an example of what I am struggling with so as to be more precise.
So can you identify the leaks here in how I reviewed this hand or did I go about it okay? I feel like I need to be more specific
Pre Flop=Upon reviewing this, I feel like my play is okay- I 3 bet the hand a standard amount( not sure if I made an error here)
Flop= I think checking here is not the worst play because if I bet and he shoves then I am probably behind, so don't mind taking the free card. Also if he bets turn I can still get away from the hand whereas if I bet the flop here and he shoves then I am probably behind but have to call anyway
Turn= I don't think betting here is that bad because he checked a second time-pretty sure he doesn't have an ace now as he would have bet turn and don't want to give him a free card. I think a mistake I made here is not paying attention to his stack size
River= Pretty sure I am behind but I have to call given pot odds
So overall I think I played the hand okay. Based on my review on this specific hand where can you identify leaks in the way I examined the hand? And how can I improve on them in the future?
