Hi!

I'm quite new to HEM and watched all tutorial vids but couldn't figure out what stats to add into my HUD besides the most basic stuff like VPIP,PFR,3BET(and also can't decide what is considered a high/normal 3 bet for example-> can't find the border between the numbers) etc. Any advice is appreciated!

If you go on the holdem manager forum you can import other peoples HUD into your HEM. These also include a border between numbers, but to see if someone has a high 3bet you have to also consider what the sample size of hands you have on them is.

Also what are you playing cash or mtt? the stats you need for each one varies i.e. you would probably want alot more info at a cash table especially in your popups.

When you're starting, I think it's best to keep it simple. With too many numbers on screen, you'll just get confused.
Other than name and number of hands, I use 3 lines on my HUD:
Basic stats for looseness/aggression pre-flop: VPIP, PFR, 3Bet
Stealing/Blind defence: Steal %, Fold to steal in SB, Fold to steal in BB. (I need quick access to these figures, because stealing blinds is a big part of my game).
Flop behaviour: Cbet, Fold-to-Cbet, AF (aggression factor)

The important thing is to colour code the numbers, so that the fish can be spotted among the nits, and the lags show up against the stations. I've found with HEM that the default pop-ups have more than enough info for making quick decisions.

Depending on your stakes, number of players, and the site you play on, a high 3bet% could be something like 6% in full ring and 9% in 6max, but at 2NL and 5NL it's usually below 3% and represents QQ+ and AK, as at nanostakes there isn't much 3bet bluffing. Someone 3-betting 8% or more over a large sample is either a very good regular, or a maniac. His VPIP figure should indicate which is correct.

Colour code is white for normal values, green for exploitable values, blue for suboptimal but non-exploitable values (usually nitty things like 7% PFR) and I have high AF & high 3bet set to red. This let's me get a pretty good 'at-a-glance' idea of how someone plays. So just from a quick look at the colour scheme I can tell this guy is a moderately aggressive reg with a few post flop leaks.

It is more for 6max so I created a 2nd one for full ring and deducted a about 5% on some of these.
