Good players create their own luck. The cards don't always matter. If you've been "card dead" then that means you haven't been playing any hands. Take some junk hand in late position and 3bet with it. Hell, take some junky hand in UTG and raise with it. People will give you credit because you haven't played for the last 30 or so hands, and your hand will be easy to fold if you face action.
Yeah, no. That's not how it works. When they see you haven't played 50 hands, if they even notice, their thinking is not "I am going to fold this JTo" but "I am going to crack his aces" or "He is abusing his image". Basically any reason to justifying playing hands.
Start raising UTG with trash and you might as well incinerate the money right away.
