How do you deal with getting donked on the flop when we are preflop aggressor?

I'm a beginner at 2nl and ran into this situation several times. Any thoughts on lines we should take?

Should we re-raise with our OESDs and flush draws unless we are getting great price?

Call with top pair? Fold worse?

Re-raise/shove 2 pair and better?

How would the lines differ vs different player types?

Thoughts?

Assign a range to villain, work out what will happen (on later streets) if you call or raise. Pick the option that makes you the most money in the long run.
I generally call/float a lot, but I'll sometimes raise pretty light because I give very little respect to donkers. Give more respect to a donker if the pot is multiway (you'll often be up against a set). If you have total air, usually just fold.

I'm thinking against station types I'm calling with top pair, OESDs and flush draws.

Re-raising them with 2 pair or better.

Folding rest.

Against reasonable player stat types who can fold will also be re-raising OESDs and flush draws.

Multiway I will stick to calling and fold to big bets especially if the board is paired.

It greatly depends on what you think he has, and if you think it is a probe bet (like it generally is considered, but it often is not true), then you try to figure out what line, in that case, makes the most of it when you have a hand and when you don't have.

If you raise with a weak hand (or nothing), then, if he calls, make sure you make a serious follow bet on the turn (especially with outs) if you want to make him to fold there, and bet at least somewhat less (vs. a fish) if you want him to call.

In many cases, floating gets the job more or less done also, with and w/o a real hand.

Many times it is best to fold junk, no matter what you think about his hand, or he might respect you a lot at that time and/or you might be positive he can't take the heat.

Its better if you post some Hands that you got donked so each one will get analyzed and you will get an idea

In the simplest terms regs often lead really strong hands for decent sizes, especially multi-way. Be wary.

Fish donk small to see where they are at. Raise them with anything. They'll usually fold.

Of course there are a multitude of other factors bit that's something to start with.
