How to beat uNL in 2014 How to beat uNL in 2014

Hi guys, new to the forum and just wanted to let those that are interested know I will be doing a 2 nl to 100 nl challenge.
Why am I doing this? I have made a living from poker since 2006 and am currently a HS cash game player and occasional MTT participant. Since 06 I have made about 3 million, just over actually from online and live games. I have never really played uNL so it is all new to me. I have a nephew who says the micros are unbeatable especially on Stars. I have looked at his database and agree the level of play is good to very good, much better than expected, but still beatable.
Anyway I plan on starting with about 100 on stars and spinning it up to 4k which would give me enough for nl100. I think by doing this and posting what each level needs to beat it and also finding mistakes along the way, it can only help those like my nephew and others that struggle at the micros.
I have not done the math yet but I think this can be done in about 500k hands.
Just a heads up and a hello to the community. I will be posting more later.

What site do you play on, what stakes online and and what stakes live?

I am going to do it on Pokerstars. My starting roll will be 75.00.

I have looked at some numbers and this is what I am aiming at, for the lower stakes like 2nl and 5nl I think my winrate can be higher but I prefer to be conservative. From looking at the 10NL and up I think I am right on track for a winning player.

Anyway this is what I came up with.
BR / Level / Winrate / Hands to move up / BR to move down
0-100 / 2nl / 8/100 / 20k/
100-200 / 5nl / 5/100 / 40k / 75
200-500 / 10nl / 4/100 / 80k / 150
500-1500 / 25nl / 2/100 / 200k / 350
1500-4000 50nl 1/100 500k 1000

It will take 840k hand to go from 75-4000.

Most of my play is on FTP since it relaunched, but I also play on 888 and Partypoker.

Online the highest I have played is 25/50. Live the highest I have played 50/100.

I haven't played very much on stars so I think I can remain anonymous where if I tried this on FTP the regs would know my name from the higher stakes and I want to remain anonymous with this challenge.

I think you would have to worry about it the other way around actually. If you are playing 25nl and they see you are a 5knl reg, they are going to play vastly different against you.

Which should increase his win rate by at least a third.

Perhaps not. You won't know which players are doing this against you, and this could cause some major problems. You are going to be at a pretty big disadvantage if you are worried about this with players, but aren't sure which ones are doing it. Some players will do bad things against you, but some might call you down later, meaning your bluffs are way less profitable.

If he's really a successful 5KNL player, then he should be able to figure out the various lines 25NL players may or may not take vs him and exploit them pretty quickly. I think it's irrational to think 25NL players are going to magically develop a gear to start playing a 5KNL player optimally just because they know he's a 5KNL player, or that a 5KNL player would need anonymity to optimally play a table full of 25NL players.

zomg so we don't take really exploitative lines against unknowns without solid population reads?

Not sure a 5knl player would be aware of that or be able to adjust when he finds that out..

OP gets bored somewhere around grinding 10nl after realising it's completely pointless and he's missing out on huge amounts of EV by not playing his proper games.

I think something similar has been posted on here before by the young brit who tragically got killed in Thailand.

He didn't get very far with it if I recall. The thread will be on here somewhere.
