Hey dudes
Which poker format would you all consider playing as a hobby - after 9 - 7
possibly for a small profit, not necessarilly a beginner, but defo not a reg/pro/etc
My ideal scenario would be HU hypers/6max HT/etc but rake is a killer nowadays

Anyways what do you think peeps
Cheers

PLO cash is what I play for kicks. You can win or lose a few buyins in a 100 hands or so and get your kicks a lot faster than with most holdem variants.

It's a hobby. Do what you enjoy. That's what hobbies are for.

Spin and Go's seem like a good candidate, especially considering the spin part at the beginning.

You can guarantee that at all but the lowest level, there were be at least 1, if not a lot more players who are regulars along with people who if not pros today, want to be pros. As CMAR said, play what you enjoy playing.

No matter which variant you choose, the financial investment into the hobby will be inversely proportional to the ratio of your skill level to the average skill level of the other people also financially and emotionally invested in the hobby.

tl;dr - the harder you work to actually learn how to play the cheaper your new hobby will be. That's true no matter which variant you choose. So choose the one that's the most fun.

i would pick something that is a bit harder to grind... or more obscure.

maybe 6 card omaha i dunno. haha mixed games. etc badugi i dunno how to even play that.

depends on your stakes too. cuz sure micro stakes spins are a good choice. depends on how much time u have to play for. etc

and no to 6max hypers. rake. regs. not a good choice...
