Going back to the basics. Going back to the basics.

I've been playing for 20 years, and been a break even player. I've never used pot odds or percentages. I've been studying for the last 6 months pot odds, etc, I'm ready to play some serious poker. I had thought about adding my 20 years of knowledge of the game to what I'm studying, but I feel maybe I need to start over to rid any bad habits. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Good idea. Start reading from scratch. Start with some beginner books and don't be proud. If you have humility, what you'll probably find if you read the beginner books is that you know 80% of it, but you'll have some holes in your knowledge and the only way through is to read it all.

The trick is to find the worthwhile books. Go to the Book forum for help. Some people prefer websites/videos/blogs, but I prefer books since they're more reviewed and consistent and "frozen in time" so to speak - a solid reference point.

Nice aproach. Good luck.
I suggest reading The Poker Mindset , of course when you got all the basics together.
Cheers

I agree on the super system book. Theres also a TON of information in there regarding a bunch of other games.

I also have Sklankys Theory of poker, that I will glance over every so often.

You might just want to check out some video clips and other video guys just to get bits of current info.

Doug Polks youtube channel comes to mind although theres a lot of others who do it as well. But some of his videos are of current games and his hand breakdowns are pretty detailed and it helps to know whats going on in some poker players minds.
