Giving myself to much credit for this fold? Giving myself to much credit for this fold?

So I just had this hand in a family pot. I'm in the SB with ace paint so I can't see any reason not to try and flop the nuts. I make my straight on the turn but I'm painfully aware of Dolly's advice that every hand except the nuts gets weaker for each person you add to the pot. So I pop a 2/3 pot bet out on the turn, thinking that I win the hand here with a fold, or get told exactly what my opponent has. As soon as he calls, I'm prepared for him to have a 6 and the river bet sends alarm bells dinging. Now, Mr Donk here, has a terrible habit of calling these river bets, but I backed off and allowed the dope on my left to call him with 2 pair.

How straightforward was this fold? Should I have just checked the turn and hoped to go check through to the river? Do I ever make the river call? I'm guessing no. I feel like my turn bet was somewhat justified, as proven by the fish calling his 2 pair, but then can I really call any bet made on the river afterwards?

I usually check the turn, as it's not like we can get value from flush draws or anything like that, as the board is a rainbow. As played, nice fold on the river. Someone usually has a 6 (sometimes 76s) or a boat/quads. The idiot end of the straight is pretty useless multiway.

Probably wouldnt bother betting the turn as in a multi way pot someone is likely to turn up with a 6, but otherwise its played fine.

They should ban CO for folding preflop.

Think he probably thought he was trapping on the flop and turn and decided to pop em on the river with the mighty top pair no kicker. I mean he was closing the action but he had to put in that extra 300 ffs.

And yes too much credit. You are betting the ass end of the 4 card straight in a multi way pot. When you receive multiple calls that should be sending off alarm bells. At best you'd be chopping.

A8 is suited ... not painted. A 'painted' Ace in this spot needs to raise it up ... AK/AQ/AJ

Nothing really wrong with betting the Turn, but when I do bet the Turn I rarely bet the River as well. The most you can expect from limp/family pots is 1 street of value and then someone can pop up out of no where on the River. No sense in getting greedy in these pots without a better hand. GL
