Free tournament. Nine-handed game, first hand of game. Blinds 100/200. 10,000 starting stacks. Second position hero dealt 6-6. Limp in. Five limpers in the hand, including villain, who is last to act.

Flop comes 6-9-10 rainbow. I lead out with 400 bet, everyone folds except villain, who calls. Turn is a 2. I bet 1,200 and villain raises to 2,600.

What does hero do?

This is why playing limped pots sucks. If you had raised pre, then you would be able to better narrow ranges. As played you have to flat to give yourself a chance to fill up, but your hand is basically a bluff catcher.

or.....fold PF from UTG+1 in a nine handed game first hand with no reads.

As played, you flopped a set. You are not folding. But... If you jam, only better hands will call...except you might get called by T9.

If you simply call...or thinking about calling...always have a plan for when villain jams the river on a "blank" or a draw-filler. If you are going to fold on the river...then just fold the turn and save yourself the turn bet. Personally, I pound it in and say "nice hand" as I am standing up, walking toward the door. I flopped a friggin' set.......

For clarity...... was villain the BB (when you said last to act)? Therefore he check calls the flop, then check raises the turn.

Rethink your bet on the turn. If you don't know what to do if check raised, it is likely you shouldn't bet.

To clarity: Villain last to act post-flop. Spoiler:

I re-raised all in on the turn and villain turned over 7-8, for a flopped straight. I didn't improve to a full house and was knocked out.

Happens. Don't worry about the situation and the way this particular hand was played out. Like the other posters have said, the main error comes from the preflop action, making your postflop decisions near crap shoot territory.
