Dilemma Dilemma

06-15-2017 , 02:41 PM
Hi,

I will very much appreciate if someone will elucidate this dilemma for me.
The format is a 10 man / table mtt. Every player has 10 big blinds with a 10% ante.
The seats with red xx are empty seats.
So my logic is this, considering the empty seats we are no longer UTG but button-3.
Holdem recourses calculator in this situation 10 man, 10bb, 10% ante button -3 says shove 23.7%. But if we change the format to 6-man table says 20.8% shove.
Basically my question is, in this situation do we treat the situation as a 10-man/table mtt in button 3 or as a 6-man/table mtt in UtG ?

Thank you.

I can't see the image.

But in general, you should treat the situation with the number of players that are getting dealt cards. Otherwise, you'd assume that the players in the empty seats folded, which isn't the case.

If there aren't 10 people at the table, it's not a 10 man table.

If the xx seats are empty but they're paying antes and being blinded out, that affects the dynamics.

I think the difference in shoving percentages will be because of the number of antes in the pot, making the pot more attractive in 10-man game.

You should therefore treat the situation as a 10-man table and you're in button 3 with everyone folding to you.

Thank you very much The_glaive.
The XX are not siting out they are not there, just empty seats so they don't pay antes.
so basically i should treat the situation as a 6 max mtt in UTG and sfove 20.8% instead of 10 man button 3 (23.7%) ?

Yes, if they are literally not there and not paying antes or blinds then it is a 6-max table, not a 10-max one.

Well it is a 10 man/table mtt but but some players got eliminated and the table has not been calibrated yet. That is way they are missing.

Thank you so much for the help.
