I'm not a veteran, but it looks like your big losses are coming on the button and in the blinds.

Your VP$IP for the SB is 24%. You're playing the SB almost as much as the button, and even raising from the SB fairly often. You should just fold the SB most of the time unless it's a limped pot or you're first to act, and then you probably want to see a cheap flop, because you're out of position the rest of the hand. Try playing it more like the way you're playing UTG.

Same thing with the BB. It's okay to fold. :)

You may need to tighten up on the button, or be more aggressive. You're playing about 1 in 3 hands on the button, but limping about half the hands you play there. Notice that in the seats where you're winning, your preflop raise percentage is much closer to your VP$IP. You're raising and they're folding. But on the button you seem to be playing pretty loose and passive.

Hope that helps.

You dont get people calling pot-sized bets after the flop and turn to hit their flush on the river.

*****.

Just wanted to comment on this and how I feel on this. Something to remember is that at the NL2/5 tables you are playing much deeper if you are buying in full compared to limits above that where the stacks (100bb deep) and thus implied odds are smaller. I agree some people are nuts and will pay huge ammounts to draw to a straight or flush, but if they feel you will pay them off when they hit and the pot is small enough on the flop they may feel they have the implied odds to call. If I find someone willing to stack off with overpairs or TPTK im more willing to call bigger bets from them to hit my draws than some other players.

Beginning to think this is hopeless for me. Grind a few dollars here and there and then I get beats like this over and over. Can't get past the 23$ mark.

Just keep at it and it can get better. On the QQ I would recommend raising more pre to .15 or so, make it more spendy for the blinds to come along, may not have mattered but I like to open for .08 so with limpers tack on some more. As for the second hand with a mini stack even though you have a big hand again since you just lost a big hand 2 hands ago people are going to put you tilting and most players will just push a couple high cards in your spot hoping to double up so getting called by 4s isnt suprising, hes probably figuring hes flipping and for .30 why not.

Losing hands like those sucks but if you are going to keep playing have to try and take em in stride, right now those plays are hurting your bottom line $$ but in the long run those type of players are what builds you BR.

I was just wondering, does stars not give you FPP's in 1c/2c tables? I haven't recieved any since SNG's i believe.
05-07-2008 , 10:06 AM
You only earn fpps for being involved in raked pots. Many pots in 2nL escape rake because pot size is so small.

Played 9, cashed in one. BR back down to $41. Some of these ppl run at 75/6. Unbelievably lucky.

Only played about 1,300 hands of $2NL then started playing $5PL Omaha8 sitting down with $2 on 6 tables, I left 2 tables with over $15 and was up a couple of buyins on the others, played about 5k hands and the play is very very poor, Im often winning 3/4 the pot, splitting the low and winning the high. People dont seem to mind calling a few dollas with the nut low but only a small pair for high.

I think Im going to switch back to NL though but now play $5NL, might throw in some $1.75 18 man and $1 MTT's now.

Ill update later tonight after my first $5NL session with a few hands, stats and grpahs.

Stuck at $25.22, keep going up a bit close to 30$ and then get one bad beat back down to 23-25$....this is rough.

End of day 4 bankroll - $227.71

Thanks Ray Zee, ive been dominating $5PL Omaha 8, buying in for the max $10 and often coming away from tables with $20+. People just really don;t know what there doing sometimes and pay you off big with 2 pair or a straight.

Think Im going to rethink what Im doing now as it will probbaly get tougher at $25NL, I might hit the $10 SNG's for a while as ive had good results from them in the past.

Im reall happy so far I have grew my bankroll by 20 times its starting point in 4 days.

I envy both you and Gina. You make more than I do playing marginal winning/breakeven 25nl, hahah

Just finished another 12 $1.20s, got the BR back up to $43. The suckouts seem to be less terrible as the day wears on. maybe the germans are having dinner.

Take in a downswing last two days now on $65.87 on stars. Gotta hit the $100 to get to 5cNL.

Will report back
