holy crap. nice work people. love your work.

however i take massive offence to "Adding to the bans from OziBattler (because he had too many shandies)".

I don't drink shandies. period.......and that is reason enough to launch another banhammer in your direction next time I drink a manly/"Im not an old fart" drink. bottoms up.......

Wondered how long it would take you to notice this

You know "shandies" just means "drinks" in colloquial British English? So I'm sure no offence was meant. "Fosters" does actually mean "shandy" here though.

Uh just realised I didn't do that yet. How remiss of me...

Yes, of course - good initiative, great writing and a great read - much appreciated.

A bit long maybe - I forgot to come back to it for a long while. Strangely enough, being a sticky means it's a bit invisible and gets lost with the other non-new stuff - for me anyway.

Looking forward to the next one

Subject of great debate, thanks for pointing this out. Really there is no perfect solution to this, we don't want the thing to disappear off the forum list but making a sticky tends to result in exactly what you have stated. I wish there were some way to color certain thread titles (or something), but then diff members have alternate views setup for use here. Any suggestions for ways to improve, or to call attention to content in the Digest each month, is encouraged. We are looking forward to improving this Digest, and we are willing to adapt to the needs and interests of the forum community that we strive to serve.

You really need some kind of function to force people to read it to the end - maybe you can take some tips from The Clockwork Orange?

Yes agreed. Bona, in his capacity as editor and head of motivation, has begun testing an appropriate apparatus for this purpose!

1. Make an announcement of the new edition as a normal post
2a Make it shorter so it's easier to, errrrm, digest
2b Make it more frequent, so it is shorter
2c Make a normal post every week or so highlighting an article or group of articles from the current edition (paragraph summary / teaser)

It'd be possible to keep the index of the digests in a sticky, but keep each new digest as a non-sticky.

Micro Full Ring NLHE keeps the current COTW plus the index in a sticky. This system might be more beneficial for most users. I don't know, but that's my 2p2 cents.

Good points, good ideas. As Bona stated, we had not considered length at all when writing the first BQ Digest. This first edition is in many ways a beta, and feedback like this is invaluable in our efforts to improve the product.

Thank you for this great suggestion, I will take a look at Micro FR NLHE and other forums. It would be great to get some of the strat forums more involved in projects with the BQ forum, I feel this forum can benefit from more strat content.

Appreciate the suggestions guys. We for sure plan to link to the previous digest every month. As far the the other stuff goes. idk, I want to proceed very cautiously with that kind of changes but none are out of the question at some point.
