Big leak

I lose money 80% of the hands i play against regulars ( the ones when i cbet and they fold don't count). Most of them either fold to cbet , raise it or call and then become aggressive on the turn. I can't remember the last time i put money in a pot against a reg with top pair, and wasn't in a tough spot.
Preflop i'm doing fine , but postflop i'm clueless most of the time.
Are there any threads (Cotw maybe) , about this? Or if you know a Deuces Cracked series that can help , please let me know.

If i can't beat the 10NL regulars , what will i do at 25 and 50? Those guys will take all my winnings against fish

Re: Big leak

If you're in tough spots postflop all the time then you're probably not doing fine preflop.

I can only advise what you'll find in the stickies, and the archives.

I like to watch videos where people are playing and explaining their thought process as they go. It just gets you thinking about what you're doing and the reasons for it.

If you can't beat 10nl then maybe move down and practice getting better and upping your winrate?

I do well preflop. And i am winning at 10nl , but i make most money off bad players.
I want to beat the good players too. I am preparing for 25/50 NL , where i assume most players are decent.

Re: Big leak

We all make most money off bad players. Good players know when they were beaten and fold. Steal off the good players and stack the fish.

Are you sure its 80%? that seems like a number pulled from thin air to me. You go on to say that when you cbet, ppl call, fold or raise. What else could they do? as a rule of thumb, if someone calls your pre flop raise and cbet then raises the turn - fold. you are almost always behind.

Top pair isnt that great once the flop comes. dont go crazy, you only have a pair.

Re: Big leak

I have the feeling that they raise too often. And some raise on boards where you shouldn't have a reason to raise.

Re: Big leak

you have the "feeling" that they raise *too often*? if you are using poker tracker or holdem manager, you dont need to use your feelings, you can use stats. its the 21st century mate, come join us!

What else are they supposed to do? Seems from your mentality itt that you are beat before you even sit at the tables.

Re: Big leak

You sound like you're playing too passively, either not betting when you should be, and calling when you shouldn't, but you really need to check the stats to either find your real leak(s) or put your mind at rest. You might find that you can make money when you only actually win 10% of the hands you're dealt, only go to showdown about 25% of the time, and win at showdown about 51% of the time. If your WTSD is above 30% and/or your W$@SD is below 50% you could well be playing like a calling station. If, by contrast, you're only going to showdown 20% of the time, you're playing too nittily and getting bluffed off hands too often.

Re: Big leak

I don't recognize the spots where is good to call or bet against players who have balanced stats , it's easier to do it against guys who are too aggressive or passive.

My WTSD is 25% and W$SD 58% , but these are my general stats , i don't know if against regulars are different.

Re: Big leak

Are you using HEM or PT? It does not seem like you are. If you arent, how would you know if someone has balanced stats or not?

I am using HM.
And i said "i feel they raise too much" , because there are lots of players on Pokerstars , and many times when i join a table the players there are unknown. The first half an hour i don't have a good read on them.

Re: Big leak

Are you full ring? 6max? Zooming? As a default, when I've sat in and am read less, I'm folding to aggression.
