Re: Beginners Forum: Introduce Yourself!
Tania (TaniaSux @ PS),27, Belgium
I started playing some months ago. I got into poker because my boyfriend (Chiren80) and some friends of mine (3J55,Kiwikaki) were really having fun with it and earning a lot of money along with it.
I played 2nl for a few months and recently jumped to 10nl. Since I got far in a tournament some time ago I had the needed BR to do that so I decided to give it a try.
Atm I play at 10nl, which I hope to beat soon. My graph was going nicely up while playing 2nl, now it looks more and more like the titanic (\)... luckily I am learning a lot so I'll stay there a bit longer...
On sundays I play a tournament and I stream while playing an hour long . This week I will be playing the Twitter Poker league again on Pokerstars, and maybe later the 1/4th Sunday millions... but dunno for sure yet...

Re: Beginners Forum: Introduce Yourself!
Name: Steve
From: NY NY, Las Vegas and now Baltimore, Maryland.
Been playing for roughly 7 years. Although on a more serious note for about 2 years. With it being hard to find games around the Baltimore area and it growing more difficult to make it up to AC, I have recently started my own game( Pictures in home poker section ) and slowly building up players.
Can also find me at the new Dover Downs room soon enough.
I've lurked these forums for awhile and have enjoyed the advice, entertainment and general knowledge obtained.

Re: Beginners Forum: Introduce Yourself!
Hi all,
My name is Alicia and I play as MsLuvs2Bong on Pokerstars. Currently semi-grinding the $2 180's since April of this year. Have been playing poker since I was 6 years old, but only recently started to put in some study in an effort to improve, and make some $$ to help with family finances.
Hoping to learn from better players here, and in time give something back in return.
I have a blog of sorts which no one reads, probably with good reason: http://msluvs2bong.blogspot.com/
Gl to all !

Re: Beginners Forum: Introduce Yourself!
Hi All,
My name is Gordon and play as holensome on UB. I am 57, full time employed with the same company for 29 years and married for 39 years.
Been playing hold'em for about a year and a half now, and apparently still playing as a beginner since I seem to deposit on a pretty regular basis.
Found 2 + 2 quite by accident looking for online help with my game. Been lurking and reading for about a month, and think I am ready to take the plunge into finding the areas I need to improve to become a winning player.
OBTW, my PT stats are 24/11/54 over 6000 hands in the micros.

Welcome to the forums
Looks like you need to work on being more aggressive when entering the pot, i.e cut out the limping and raise more when first to enter.

Finally !!! I'm not the oldest Beginner !!!
As you are new here I'll be gentle. I don't know if you are aware of the cheating scandals at UB, but if you are not you might want to look here http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...sticky-251207/.
UB are not popular around here, so if you do post here with strategy questions about hands you've played (and I hope you do) you'd be better off not mentioning that its UB where you're playing because that's likely to become the focus of the replies, rather than the question you asked.
Oh and +1 on what bb99 said ...
Your PFR number should be much closer - at least 80%, preferably 90% - of your VPIP number

Re: Beginners Forum: Introduce Yourself!
Hi All,
My name is Andrew and I'm 22 this year. A college dropout in my quest to pursue poker and sports betting.. Coming from Singapore and grinding it out on pokerstars. My sn is "Lastemperor7" at stars and I've been doing pretty decent so far. A week into my career at stars and has turned $20 into $200 in cash games and tourneys. Been playing online poker for about a year prior to stars and specialises in PLO and LHE. A good overall player in other forms of poker. Intially wanted to be a futures trader but after discovering poker, has shift my attention to it since.
Avid reader of poker and trading books. I must say that choose your poker books wisely because some actually make you worse.. sklansky book on limit HE is a great one but only for stakes 40/80 and above. Some concepts are still very useful for stakes below that.
Ply my sports betting trade at betfair and lay 80% of the time. Specialises in soccer, f1 and Nba betting. Sports betting is all about probabilities.
Very keen to make some friends on 2+2, those interested please pm me cheers and gl at the tables..

Introducing ourself's threads?
I'm new to 2+2 and was wondering if there is a introduce yourself type thread?
I'm 24 from Brussels play poker since I'm little and my father used to have a regular game with friends and uncle's and as we got older so did we (cousins + friends) Moved a while ago so fell out with my group of friends. While Google pointed me here , Im hoping I learn and meet loads of new things and people. Play mainly live but have been thinking of maybe trying online. Which is a bit of a hassle for me at the moment so I think I'll be sticking with live for the time being.
If I posted this in the wrong place, please let me know.
And is there a thread for women to post, to get to know other poker playing girls or just general gossip :P
Thanks
Jennifer

Re: Introducing ourself's threads?
Hi Jen,
There is a thread where people have introduced themselves along with a photo. I'm sure someone will provide the link.
Also if you look at the bottom of General Poker you will see That's What She Said, which is a sub-forum aimed towards female players.
