I'm playing one table of 2nl on my phone. What should I read or watch to become a winner at 2nl? I won't be using pokertracker or hud

I'm interested in making the best play for every hand at 2nl. Don't care if I make 0.13 a hour. I have a job that gives me income. Poker is just a fun hobby where I hope to be good at. I am interested in moving up limits eventually. Not to win more money though.

Volume, Volume, Volume. Watching youtube vidoes and twitch streams will help as well!

Wrong. Playing with a $500 stack is nothing like playing with a $2 stack.

If you want to win at 2nl learn to be patient.

Buy a book (The Grinders Manual is excellent) use it to give you a solid preflop range then learn to fold when you get bet into hard with a marginal hand and wait for a solid hand.

You are trying to win 10BB/100 hands so you don't have to build a massive pot very often to achieve this, just steal the blinds occasionally and win a few small pots.

I always find it a bit comforting to realize how slow you can actually play and be a winner in poker. It is true that all you have to do each hour is a win a few small pots and steal a few blinds to big a pretty big winner. Ironic really.

It isn't true. You also need to avoid losing pots. Poker is complex and becoming a winning player isn't as easy as this statement may have a complete beginner believe.

You are going to lose around 50% of the time at showdown. You need to lose small pots rather than going for 3 streets of value with TPTK or an overpair. Then when you flop that monster hope your opponent got a piece of the board too. Small pots are underrated IMO.

It may not be as always be as complex as you may have a complete beginner believe, although poker is an extremely complex game. I agree that you also need to not lose pots, but most players think they need to win big pots all the time in poker. If one does the math, one finds out that one can sit quite contentedly, at times, and let the game come to him.

Folding is an art that few possess. The truth is probably that one needs to learn to cut loses well at 2NL. It is inevitable that pots are going to be lost.

If I were you, I would obtain even a marginal win rate and then just move up. The rake makes the lowest stakes difficult to beat for a great win rate.

learn the right plays by studying. then watch others and find how they made mistakes. like losing too much on a hand or not winning enough with it.
