A platinum star gets $200 for 15400 VPPs, you can enter 65 235FPP hypers for this so as long as you know how to play shove/fold poker then you should win ~1/3 of games which is ~$230 so they are ever so slightly better value than Platinumstar. If you are below platinumstar though then they are vastly better value especially as shove/fold poker is pretty easy but obviously high variance.
Yeah you can use a pushbot chart and win 1/3 like raikkonen said (also think he meant 15400FPP)
If you're a good SNG grinder you can probably get some more value out of those
I think as Platinum Star Grinder it's starting to get better to buy the reward though
Because playing 65 hypers takes some time you could spend playing cash/SNGs instead
So if your EV playing cash/SNG is higher than the difference from buying the dough/playing the hypers instead, or you're just not likeing the high variance route, you could buy the cash
Also don't forget to unregister from the tournament last time I played 15 hyper turbos I forgot to unbuy from the initial one and missed the tourney :|
Stella Rewards cost 1FPP but the reward bonus costs more depending on your status.
TBF you could run way under EV in 65 games of hypers so I may be worth it to take the non variance route. Not sure how good my shove/fold game is anyway. Think I shove too wide.
So I just played a short session. Was running well, playing well, 3 BI up, then on one of my tables I ran into a preflop push-monkey. After 5 hands, I decided he was pushing ATC (his play had been maniacal up to that point too). So I called with 99, QQ, KQ, AT, and A5, was ahead every single time, and lost every one. So now there's a megafish on the 4NL tables at Party with a $25 stack. Go get him.

Ouch! I was just observing the Party 4NL tables, actually. I'm gonna be playing on them tomorrow now that my Kelly Criterion figures have lined up. *bankroll nit*
Results: $2.69 pot ($0.16 rake)
Final Board: Q A T 7
BTN mucked and lost (-$1.33 net)
Hero mucked A K and won $2.53 ($1.20 net)
Villain is 26/23/13.0 over 77 hands. Was definitely worried over this hand but glad it pulled through. He snapped called flop bet so I was actually planning on giving up on the turn..
Figured Vils. range is AQ+ JJ - KK ?? and AQ and QQ is beating me.
But yeah otherwise standard stuff, setmining, aces and kings etc.
500 hands, +1 BI. Felt like I played well - at times I'm too aggressive, but today I pulled off my first 5bet bluff (don't worry, crazy history with this person). This kind of thing is always nice too (against an otherwise solid LAG):
Am I the only one who posts in this thread? :P I had a torrid time at 4NL this morning, lost 3BIs to coolers and bad beats, but decided to try my hand at semi-mass-multitabling 2NL - 10 tables, and over 1.1k hands, up 9BI (so up $6 for the day) (RUNGOOT). Couldn't stomach playing nitty so ended up 10 tabling FR playing 17/14. Also my first 2k hand day.
Haha we're losing people to the ZOOM poker thread But if that thread is any indication, a lot of those guys should come back especially to playing normal tables.
Just finished up a session at NL2 4 tabling. Won a couple BIs which is nice
River: ($1.09) J (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1.63 and is all-in, SB folds
Spoiler:
Results: $1.09 pot ($0.06 rake)
Final Board: T T T 8 J
BTN showed A J and lost (-$0.21 net)
SB mucked and lost (-$0.37 net)
Hero showed T 3 and won $1.03 ($0.66 net)
What line do you guys take? Feel I could have put in a raise on the flop but when I call flop I feel that raising on the turn exposes I have a decent full house there?

Your main mistake is playing AT in the SB... realizing you'll be OOP for the rest of the hand... Bet sizing was good, I personally would have just completed the SB and seen what came on the flop...
Flop wasn't too bad, however I think your flop and turn bet are pretty small, no? I try to stick with at least 3/4 pot bets. Not sure if that would have made a difference here, however.
I don't see your FH thoughts on the turn, though... Nobody is going to assume you have a set of 6's or K's there.. really the 4 changes nothing for anybody and your bet is more of a "I still think I have the best hand" type of bet... Could have been a bit bigger, again...
As played, look back and think wtf was he calling pre with 3's, and wtf was he calling the flop & turn with 3's... Find him and exploit him!
fml found a table this morning with about 6 whales on.
Two in particular playing 74/30/56 and 66/11/50.
I got in pre ahead of their range lots of times.
I got quite a lot of good hands, raised pre, got called EVERY time, no matter what they had.
First one 3bet with KQo and called a 4bet with it (which was ATo ).
Yet they kept catching! And just calling down and hitting.
Luckily I almost doubled up on my first hand when they let me ride my big blind and I flopped 2 pair and one of them bet bet bet bluffed me.
Unfortunately I lost most of it back. Iso raising they called with their trash - great! Except as below I have lost a significant pot every single time I have had QQ this month - I am 3BI down on the last 6 times I have had it.
Anyway, I think I ruined this hand. Why didn't I value bet after one pplayer was all in?
I think the AI made me think he had a huge hand and just wanted to check it down but forgot there was another fish involved who would call down with worse.
Nothing would have saved the main pot but I could have built a side pot and come away with some winnings.
Urgh.
I gues the other reason I didn't value bet is another hand against the same guy I had bet bet bet with AQs on A53 high board and he had A5 and flopped 2 pair and just called me down.
