First of all I'm not an expert, but a beginner or a bit better, so the below is not prescriptive and may be totally long.
I wanted it to look like a feeler bet, to see if he hit his flop, and/or at a quarter of the pot, to put him off of any draws (I wanted it to look like that), this would get rid of AK and I would note hesitation with pairs that were not on the board but in the guy's potential range (e.g. TT, JJ), again I didn't have a good read. With TT he might have raised preflop also hoping I might fold outright (fold equity) since I did not make a big preflop raise (Although apparently I should have). So I was looking for hesitation. Finally it's a 'come hither' bet, showing weakness - but he came hither in spades! I did not expect the extent of his reraise.
A raise of a quarter of the pot may also put someone off of some draws, though I guess the board dint' clearly present any.
At any rate I wanted to string the guy along and keep betting turn and river.
This particular bet was supposed to look like a continuation bet.
I also didn't mind if the guy thinks that I hit the Q (with AQ or even the odd KQ I might play or whatever) and was slow-playing since in fact what I ACTUALLY had - KK - was better than just 'hitting (i.e. connecting) the q'). I wouldn't mind the guy thinking I got QQ top pair and was slow-playing; what I was actually doing is having KK and slow-playing.
I also didn't mind if for whatever reason the guy thinks I actually hit air (e.g. had bet AJ) and was making a fearful small bet. (in this sense it was a come-hither bet). I actually hoped he would make this interpretation and try to get me to fold my air with a mild bet.
Anyway it's the force (extent) and speed of his large reraise that made me lay down. I guess I did the wrong thing.
