This situation come up and was wasn't sure of the rule.
Say the board has Ad Kd 9d 2s 2h
One player has 7d 8d
2nd player has 3d 4d
The call it split pot because both has ace high flush.
Is is a split pot or player one got shafted?

Ad Kd 9d 8d 7d beats Ad Kd 9d 4d 3d

Best 5 card hand

Player one got shafted. The best five card hand wins, so AK987 is a better flush than AK943.

This one doesn't really need a poll. It isn't a matter of opinion, it is just a matter of what is the rule. 100% of the people who know the rules will say that the 87 wins. Anyone who reads this and thinks it is a split pot will read the other responses and either realize they are wrong, or think they might be and look up the rule, and find out that they are wrong.

wow....this reminds me of a player at homegame who faced an 100$ sized bet at the river and he folded his hand because he had only 50$ behind and not 100$.
He folded nuts :P

To your question obviously the 5 card combination wins so first player wins!

I voted for a split pot. It just seems fairest.

Any other basic rules you'd like to break?

How about everyone gives me half their stack every time I'm dealer? That seems fairest to me..

Where have you been hiding? Nice to see you.

FWIW, pretty sick timed rake.

Best 5 cards wins.

Not even close to a matter of opinion either, it's a fundamental rule.

This! I recall similar situations arising in old home games that I used to play in years ago. It is the best 5 card hand, so even though both players have an Ace high flush, the other cards matter as well. Say for example one of the players had the Q, that should not even be a question as to whether it is a split or not.
