9man sng's vs 6-max 9man sng's vs 6-max

I've been applying pretty much the same strategy to 9man and 6-max sng's.
I've been doing ok at the 9mans but not so much in the 6maxs.
Why?

The strategies aren't too fundamentally different (suppose 6m has slightly different ICM effects) so without more information we can't give you any ideas

It sould be a number of reasons:

1) Variance. How many sngs hane you played at each level?

2)Using the same ranges at 6max and 9man sngs.

3)Stronger player pool at 6max

Probably other reasons as well.

I guess it could be just variance. I have only played 37 6max I just stopped playing them when I noticed I was losing a lot

Did you have any experience playing 6 max in any other format prior to playing these sngs? I'm guessing your not adequately adjusting your range. That's the most likely explanation.

from what I remember 6max should have a wider range. Also depends on the stakes if it's micros those will turn into shove contests/pancake flips.

I definitely would not use the same strategy on a 9 man table at a 6man table in sng.
on top of that there is variance....more hands per hour...blah blah blah
