Once you're comfortable at 9max, and winning over a decent sample size, move to 6 max. It may take longer than you think to get to this point. I would move to 6 max before moving up in limits. Here you can learn how to loosen up a bit at the table.

Then, once you're winning at 6max over a large sample you can go back to the 9max tables. You should now know how to play tight on tables with lots of players seeing flops as well as how to take advantage of tables where people are folding a lot early.

This is jumping ahead a little though. Learn to beat 9max, then learn 6max to be able to take better advantage at the 9max tables.

Thank you

In terms of study/ play its a balancing act. Think of it as a sport. You need to practice...but you also need to study film. I personally think if you are really going to make a go of this; you treat it like you are already a pro. Construct a gameplan. Allocate 2 days/week of zero poker activity. The other 5 git to work

Sit down at your computer and play 1-2 hours of your best poker. Total focus no dicking around looking at facebook or any distractions. Earmark questionable hands. Review them/ post them up in the full ring microstakes thread for analysis. Then study (watch a couple of training videos). Do they make sense? Internalize the info and try to implement it. Does it work??? or are you ****in up these new ideas? If its the latter what needs to be done to fix the problem? Then fix it. Vow not to make the same mistakes Repeat this process at least 2x per day.

*Edit - I posted in another thread about a dude butchering a hand and its ok. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes. I have been a full time pro for a very long time...and I still make a ton of mistakes. I do HH reviews after every session with my poker buddies. I really butchered my thought process on a hand last night. So much so it was almost embarrassing. the important thing is I recognized my flawed thought process and I am not going to make that mistake again for a very long time...if ever

Ok i have been pounding the material 7 days a week 8 to 10 hrs a day. I think i will slow down and make sure to take the 2 days off. I think this will help with feeling overloaded and not retaining as much as i would like. Thanks for the advice much appreciated

Well took the last week off. The only thing I did with poker was listened to a few pod casts. Felt good played for 4 hrs today. Was card dead most of the day but still managed to log a winning session.

Hope everyone has been doing well and having a good weekend.

I agree, once you know the individual hand vs hand equitys, you can quickly say, right it's 3 lots of 80-20, 6 lots of 60-40 12 lots of 45-55 etc... then kinda estimate/weight them. If you understand this process, you can get quite a good estimation.

You can then use equilab to confirm the result vs their range and see how far you are off. it's actually qiuite a fun little game you can play away from the table, I use 'Take EV' on my android if i am in a que etc...

Looks like ~1500 hands of breaking even with no all ins to throw the lines off from each other.

I have defiantly went all in a couple of times. but yes its been basically break even the last few sessions. up 30.00 This whole starting at 5nl is taking some time to get used too. I just feel like at these stakes the players don't value money. Im still trying to get it through my head these players are mostly not thinking players. i will just continue to grind and practice thanks you for your time

I agree.

I keep telling myself all this nickle and dime poker is for a reason. Honestly when you make a mistake at the micros it doesn't sting as much as a mid stakes. The best part about it is you do learn from those mistakes.

OP I've been getting mocked for constantly pimping my nearly-two-year-old 4-year-anniversary post, but it hasn't stopped me from believing in it. I think it, along with all the other advice you've gotten in this thread, will help you:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/32...32/?highlight=

By the way, IMHO one thing that sets you apart is that you're still here actually responding to the advice people give you - you're actively discussing and reviewing as opposed to the countless posters who post one question and disappear. I think that bodes well for you. Good luck, I hope you enjoy poker as a hobby.

P.S. I worked at Hardee's as a kid too! It was one of my first "life lessons" that I had a 3.85GPA (that number gets higher as I get older BTW!) and my first two jobs were flipping burgers and weeding nurseries!

I agree. that was one of the things I noticed for the SB. I have been limping a lot in all positions. I have found that limping with the rest of the players vs a raise in some situations makes more sense the pots tend to get To bloated for some of the hands in my ranges. So by limping behind I am at least getting to see a flop. I could have the whole wrong idea I am still very green around the edges and am all ears to listen to what people have to say. Thanks for your response
