If you're actually at 100NL, stop posting in BQ. Otherwise, stop making hands up and post your own hands.

I like checking more than betting here. It appears that villain has whiffed the flop and won't be donating anything more to you unless it's by way of a bluff. I'm also not sure that there is a lot that is going to call a donk bet on this board. On the other hand there are a good amount of river cards to come that will make it a much scarier board.

I lean towards check, personally. Depending on the tendencies of the villain, of course.

why?

before you answer, it would appear that you seem to think that it's because he checked - which is only true for very bad players, who seem to play very merged ranges (they base their decisions on how "comfortable" they feel about their hand, and they don't feel "comfortable" with pure air).

In reality, most people who are at least remotly competent will be checking merged range, meaning most of their checks will contain at least some showdown value. Therefore, as for hand, you should be checking back vs complete fish and betting versus everyone else.

I think you can check or bet the turn. Indeed, the GTO solution is probably do both at some frequency.
Since you'd have some draws in your range, you'd bet some of those as semi-bluffs, and balance with your strong hands, but you'd also check with draws if you're also checking some made hands.

FWIW, BTN should often check back AK on the flop, and he's usually betting the turn, so you're not losing value from that hand specifically by checking again. A check-raise is going to be very profitable if villain is checking flop and betting the turn at a high frequency with Kx or AA.

did you change the hh or did I missread it? I was sure we were IP and the question was about the flop. In this spot we should be betting our sets at high frequency vs pretty much anyone.

If you're posting in BQ and playing 100NL, something is wrong. I suspect if you perceive yourself as a beginner you're playing about 4 limits too high at least.

Start with a turn bet, 70%.
