Is 1/2nl with rake at Indian casino profitable? Is 1/2nl with rake at Indian casino profitable?

Im wondering what type of rake is beatable at an indian casino at 1/2nl. Most of the players are inexperienced or think their good but don't study the game. You wont really encounter too many gamblers on a weekend stay just looking to have fun going all in with a flush draw here. The play is really tight, weak. The drop is 6+1(badbeat). ive played here many times off and on and i usually break even or win some until i hit some bad luck and just start losing to everything. ive noticed there is really no regs in the 1/2 games, they all play 2/5.

It depends. What is the % rake? What is the min/max buyin? What is the typical buyin? What is your skill edge over the competition? What are your chances of getting deep (200bb+) vs. a fish?

Chances are the game is beatable but probably not for an hourly that you'd want to have to live on.

its 1 dollar on the flop but 10% up to 6+1. 60/200 for buyin. im probably better than 2/3rds of players but most players are old nits who play just top starting hands and thats it. The fish would most likely leave and come back in an hour to rebuy for 200 if they had a stack.

OK, well it sounds like a pretty crappy game but deffo not unbeatable.

First problem is, you need to be better than top 1/3. You need to be the best or second best player at the table every time. Better than 2/3s just makes you a marginal winner.

Second problem, game is nitty, meaning you can steal to some extent but it's still hard to make a lot of money against nits. With rake, you need to destroy the opposition to make money, meaning you want to get paid in stacks and nits only give you stacks when you cooler them.

Third problem, realistic upper win rates on this game are pretty low. So if you do it for fun and pocket money, that's fine. If you are doing it for a living, you need to get to 2/5 or more sensibly, get a real job because poker is not a good career choice.

I should make a disclaimer here, I am not familiar with your particular game and I don't have a great deal of live poker experience. So take my input with a grain of salt.

If you're interested in making a living at this, search around for threads called Going Professional or similar in this forum, lots of good advice there.

Live Low-Stakes NL forum is a strat forum for specific hand questions.

Live Casino Poker forum is a forum for general questions and has sub-forums for specific locations.

You can search for relevant threads in all these places, note that winrate questions have been done to death so people will probably point you to existing threads rather than answer your question directly. TL;DR 10bb/hour is often touted as the upper end realistic win rate in a normal 1/2 game.
