Well I completely copied this from dogyfish in the brick and mortar forum but the thread got locked and I think it is worth a discussion.

Has anyone ever gone through with a promotion like this and how easily and quickly do they actually pay out the points? It says you get the points by oct 31st. Do we think they will wait till the last second or will you get the points as soon as you qualify.

I saw this on slickdeals. Makes it look like the perfect time for those of you who might want to take a poker vacation.

You have to visit 3 sites for 15,000 points then you get 15,000 points for each other site you visit up to 6 total for 60,000 points

My parents just left for vegas today (I live in Pittsburgh, Pa) They are going to be there for a week. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I could send them my rewards card so they could qualify me out there.

Yeah, they will wait until Oct. 31st, I'm sure. I've made 3 "destinations" already and have yet to get 15,000 Credits for that.

You have to sign in at either a kiosk or the Total Rewards desk at each casino as well. You may also be able to do it online...From the rules:

1. Guests must opt in using their Total Rewards card. Guests may opt in at a property via a card swipe at a promotional kiosk or TR center (varies by property) or on line at TotalRewards.com using their Total Rewards account number. Total Rewards membership is free and available by visiting a Total Rewards casino or signing up at TotalRewards.com.

In terms of "easily paying" you, I'm assuming they will just reward you the Bonus Credits in one lump to your Players account. This will be the most I have ever got from Harrah's in 10 years when I'm done with this...

1. When you visited the 3 sites where did you sign in at.
2. If you don't mind saying which ones did you visit
3. Are you able to get confirmation on the total rewards site that you have "collected" a site before you leave town. I would hate to drive somewhere and when I get home realize it didn't count for some reason.

St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago (visited both of them actually). At STL & KC, there were kiosks; in CHI, you had to go to the TR desk. As for confirmation, I couldn't find anything on their website to double check, even after I registered my card there. I'm assuming as a fall back you can double check the points collected on your card for the day at the TR desk before you leave. All you need is 1 point; I'm shocked Harrah's has made the requirement so low, tbh. In KC, I think I only earned 3 points.

I have a casino chip collection and we were planning on making one more casino trip this summer so this promo has to be part of our planning. I dont think ee can pass up 1200 dollars in promo between the two of us

I do still need to find out how to get my card to my parents in vegas. Does anyone know if i could just mail a package to the hotel with their room number on it

Any other 2p2'ers interested in doing a card swap via mail? Should be relatively easy to to coordinate.

How do you figure that 60,000 are worth approximately $600. When I went on the site, it seems like you can get a $100 gift card for 20,000 points. And this is a gift card good for buying stuff at a Harrah's property - so I'd guess that reduces the value to no more than $60. So at that rate, 60,000 points would be worth $300 in Harrah's money, or closer to $180 in real money.

I could be misunderstanding something, so if you really do see them worth 1 cent each, let me know where you get that value.

Its $600 in food comps and maybe some other obscure things.

According the the website Harrah's Cherokee offers $100 visa giftcards for 15,100 points.

Anyone know of good ways to turn the points into cash?
The slickdeals thread is really long and there is no discussion of the best way to spend the points. Just pages and pages of people talking about the best way to scam Harrah's.

Not really surprised after some of the things I've seen on slickdeals. Don't ever make a pricing mistake or have a glitch in your computer system. Those bastards will take you for every penny you are worth.

keep in mind that harrah's bases their comps on ADT (Average Daily Theoretical), or basically how much they expect you to lose on an average day you set food in their casino. Card swapping and/or earning 1 point on the card to take advantage of this promotion will drop your ADT and could jeopardize future comps.

this is very true and good point. however for me I have not played in a harrahs for three years so it will not effect me in least

60,000 comp points... you can order 3 x $100 shell gas cards for that...
