Video Poker Hourly win rates

What is a ballpark hourly win rate for profitable Video Poker machines like $.25 Full Pay Deuces Wild, or $1 10/7 Double Bonus.

Where can I find information about the best plays in Vegas? This seems to be much more difficult to find than info about live poker. Are VP pros really secretive about revealing spots?

@ 500 hands/hour * $1.25 per hand = $625/hr * 0.75% advantage = $4.69 per hour.
Higher if you can play more hands, lower if you make strategy errors. Doesn't count cashback/comps from player card. Try VPFree2.

$4.69/hr plus cashback/comps = how much?

Sounds like less than minimum wage.

And play at least long enough to hit the royal.

They occur on average about 1 in 40,000 hands. You'd have to play quite a long time for that to happen.

If you do not hit the royal, you will lose long term. The payback percentages are calculated in to include every possible result including the royal.

I know this, but the way that post was worded made it sound like to stay until you hit a royal in one session.

Re: Video Poker Hourly win rates

royal flush comes a little less often than 40,000 hands... and it depends on the game you are playing because each game has different strategy...

If you are lucky enough to find a 10/7 Double Double bonus machine, it has an overall return of over 100%!

a 9/6 jacks or better machine has a return of 99.+% which is as good as you can find usually...

Most full pay games are higher limit... like $1 per credit or $5...

At Stateline Primm, they have 10/7 DDB on a $0.25 machine, but you must play 10 credits to see that return...

if you play any game with perfect strategy, your return will be very close to 99% on most games if it has a good pay table...

Incorrect. Most full pay games are $0.25, which makes them harder to earn real money on. You won't find FPDW in Vegas for more than $0.25. At a lot of strip properties you won't find 9/6 JoB for less than higher denominations, but that is a sub-100% game.

I think a good question was this one here:

Ok, so $4.69 an hour, plus the cashback/comps.

At 500 hands at $1.25, that's $625/hour wagered. If it were a Harrahs, you'd need $10 for each point playing video poker, so you'd be getting >30 points an hour. A point is worth a penny in cashback, so you've moved from $4.69 to almost right at $5/hour. AWESOME! You'll still get comps and slot credits on top of your cashback - and you can maximize those bonuses by playing during promotions, etc.

I'm an occasional slot donator, and I'm getting $500+ in slot credits at a Tribal-run Harrahs this month -- and I'm not even Platinum -- so I think there's plenty of buffets and hotel stays and slot credits and promo nights we're not counting.

This.. It is really hard to calculate the true value of what you earn from VP play on top of the few dollars in profit that can be immediate in the short term. It depends on what offers interest you, how often you go to the casino, and how close you live to the casino.

If you live close enough to take advantage of most offers that you receive, it can be quite profitable. Point multiplier days, bonus coin days, gift giveaways, and free rooms/food can all be added to the "earned" column.

I play enough VP to consider it a nice little side income. It is a grind, but I have been profitable when taking into consideration what interests me. I never pay for a room (other than like $7/night in room taxes,) and I take advantage of all free coin and gift giveaways. Gifts can be used for presents for others or sold on eBay. Plus in AC where parking is not free, VP will get you to higher-tiered cards quicker so you don't have to pay for parking.

In reality, you won't make much from VP unless you get on a hot streak with lots of royals/quads in certain games, etc.. I only average around a couple hundo per month in actual cash profit, but it's nice to be able to go whenever I want and not have to pay for rooms/food/parking. It makes things a lot easier when I play live poker.

Re: Video Poker Hourly win rates

I think some people are ill-informed and possibly misunderstood what I was asking in this thread...
I went to a free FPDW class today at Eastside Cannery and the instructor said u couldnt make much more than $7/hr playing .25 FPDW, but there are much more profitable spots, like $2 NSU deuces, which could be worth $40+/hr on double points days, but requires a bankroll of $65k for 10% risk of ruin.

I'm curious if anyone knows a ballpark winrate for $1 10/7 double bonus, which can be found at the Palms and many other Vegas casinos.

Re: Video Poker Hourly win rates

10/7 Double Bonus returns 100.17%

for every $100 you bet, you should get back $0.17...

Full Pay Duces Wild returns 101.6% with expert play...
