Vegas World
I happened upon this website about a year ago; it starts out being a "free"
game site, It has casino type games, including Blackjack, Poker, Slot machines, Bingo, and even Solitaire. it's not for winning money. You just win "coins" which are just a way of keeping score. I suppose a lot of online games operate this way, but if you want better odds at winning, you can buy "gems" for money, and you build up your score more quickly. I don't know how the heck I got hooked into this, but I find I have spent a lot of money buying "gems" to win more worthless points or "coins", as they call them. Is this channeling into my gambling addiction tendencies? How could I be spending so much money for actually no chance to win money? Is there anybody else out there sucked into something similar to this game? I feel foolish buying more gems all the time, but somehow, it's amusing or fun to me to win and build up my score into the billions.

Actually no, never happened to me. Maybe it was not the point of your thread, but if you want to stop with it maybe a good internet/apps blocker software like this should easily solve your problem, gl

A lot of people play at these type of sites. They don't have a casino near them, don't trust online gambling and for their entertainment buy fake coins to continue to play.

For some it's just a way out of the "real" world and to have fun, for others it ends up being a compulsion. In the end whether you have 1 fake coin or a zillion, they remain worthless.
