Re: Thread about video poker

Suited Junk-

Im afraid your search will be a futile one. Caesars has the worst vp paytables of anyone on the strip. MGM properties are slightly better but still not anything Id be excited to play. I think I remember reading somewhere that Casino Royale has the best paytables on the strip (though still not full pay).

I have sworn off strip gambling for the most part. I would almost call it a boycott. It just pisses me off that all they have done over the last decade is change the odds on every game they can to favor the house even more. It has gotten to the point that you almost have no shot of winning. They have jacked up the prices on food and everything else too.

I know this will never happen but I wish enough people would stop gambling in protest of the ****ty odds so they would have to change them back. The sad truth is most tourists are ignorant of the fact that they are being raped!

Re: Thread about video poker

My aunt lives near Vegas and whenever I go out there we always meet up with her. In the last 10 years there has not been 1 single time that we met up on the strip. The last time we met up with her she asked what we were doing and I told her we just came from MGM (slots, blackjack, lunch) and she yelled at me. She said "I tell you every year to stop throwing money away on the strip. There is a reason the locals don't touch the strip." We ended up at Terribles for a few hours for their $5 shrimp and steak dinner then we went down town and played. I don't know what the pay tables were on VP but that is what my aunt was playing.

Re: Thread about video poker

Fergie, I hear ya... I may explore playing at RIO, I think the games are a little better...

I was at Caesars again on Wednesday... I counted my Full Houses this time (playing 7/5 Bonus rather than my usual 8/5). I had about 34 full houses before I stopped counting after being sick. Thats 170 credits.. (I was playing $2)

I did get board and played Double Super Times pay for a little bit. They had it at the $0.25 level. I hit 4x3's w/ a kicker on a 5X multiplier for 1K. So that helped a bit...

Re: Thread about video poker

If you have an iPad or an iPhone I suggest getting VP Trainer to train for full pay jacks or better WinPokerHD to train for any other kind of video poker. Both let you drill through thousands of hands and point out your mistakes for much less than you would pay in a casino.

Re: Thread about video poker

Good advice Chinagambler. I use WinPoker on my iphone, it has 31 different games on it and allows you to customize pay tables to w/e games you are going to play in a casino. It does everything you need it to do and more.

Nice hit on the STP!

If I were you I would go accross the street from Rio and check out Palms. They have much better pay tables, slot club, restraunts and hotel ammenities too.

Yep not much on the strip. With you on the boycott Fergie or not giving any gaming action. Hotel stay or hangin out is fine.

Next trip in Vegas I most likely will stay at Arizona Charlies because of players card I frequently use in Laughlin(Aquarius). Will have to check out the Palms Fergie, thx.

Rio I plan on playing VP at next time I take a trip where I am really going to play more money than I had budgeted for this trip. Problem with Palms, I want to make 7 Stars this year. More than half way there now.. Maybe after I hit 7 Stars and I am stuck playing in Vegas I will go to Palms and bonus whore a bit...

Going to vegas AGAIN this week, (third week in a row). This time I am staying at Paris. Not planning on playing much, and don't think the games will be much different.

You're welcome.

As far as the quasi boycott, that is all it will ever be since my wife likes to stay on the strip so she can go wandering and sight seeing while I degen it up. We agreed to compromise and book two nights at Palms and two nights at either Cosmo or Aria the next time we are in town. Which brings me to my next point...

I am sooooo jealous of all of you who get to go to Vegas like twice a month! My ****ty job has me scheduled to work 5 out of 6 weekends and forced in on the one Im supposed to have off most of the time. So I will be lucky to get back before September.

Re: Thread about video poker

I have been going to vegas lately for business... Unfortunately, only time I had to play was in the middle of the night.

Any good places to play VP near you?

I used to go to vegas two / three times a month before I discovered Harrah's Rincon which is about 100 miles from me. (Vegas is 240).

At least when you get to go you can enjoy it!!

Re: Thread about video poker

Unfortunately, there is no decent vp available in Minnesota. They made a law that no game can return more than 98%.

There is one casino that has 4 different progressive banks, so that one has the potential to be playable once in a while. Ofcourse, it is also twice as far away as two others in the metro area.

It must be a cruel form of torture having to work in Vegas! I am pretty sure I would be almost worthless with my mind wandering all day thinking about what I will be doing after work.

haha yeah me too. I am half worthless thinking about what I am going to do next time I am in Vegas. I live in PA so that's only once a year.

Re: Thread about video poker

I just got two sweet lookin promos in the mail...

One at harrahs laughlin. Requires 3 night stay.

Play friday earn 3x multiplier in video poker
Play saturday earn 5x multiplier in video poker
Play sunday get 10x multiplier in video poker

Multiplier on reward credits that is... I never played vp in laughlin so have no idea what the pay tables are, but it is tempting... Its in the end of july

The other promo is at any harrahs in vegas (will do this at rio) in august.

2500 tier points for the weekend get a digital camera or something else
5000 get a sling box system, dell convertible tablet laptop or something else
10,000 get a lg 50" slim lcd tv
20k get a 70" pimp ass tv

I know i can swing the 50" if i grind a good returning $1 or $2 bonus / jacks or better game. Should only be 10 hours of play fr me at $2. I need a new tv

But since im there for the weekend, i would grind $1,... Sooooo tempting

Re: Thread about video poker

Damn! That last offer esp is VERY nice.

How does Harrahs award points?

I would try to find a 10 line .25 JoB with the best pay table I could and grind that. I ran up 80,000 points at Palms in 2 days that way.

http://http://www.vpfree2.com/casino...acks-or-better

It looks like the Rio is ranked #54 in Vegas for vp. Be careful trying for that TV!

Re: Thread about video poker

1 point = $10 through the machine playing Video Poker
1 point = $5 through a slot

10 line JOB at $0.25 would be 1.25 points a push... The JOB I saw when I was at Caesars was 8/5 or even 7/5!

I know Rio has full pay Super Aces Bonus and some Dueces Wild, so I hope they have a full pay Bonus poker game.

Caesars has 7/5 Bonus...

well see, IF I go Ill spend some time looking around. Doesn't matter where I play as long as it is at a Caesars property.

To get the 10K TV, I would have to put $100,000 through a machine. My best single day was 8,000 points, but I was playing $5 8/5 Bonus, and really only for a few hours (8,000 points at $5 level is only 3200 hands). At this time, I do not have the BR for $5.

If I could find a good playing multi line game like you found at the palms (10 line 9/6 JOB LUCKY!)... then for sure I will be playing that...
