I am going to be moving to Colorado in a few months, and am finding it hard to find information about Blackhawk gambling. I see very few threads on here, and other threads I google seem to be from 2011 or so. I figured I'd try here.

Vpfree2 shows a few decent Video Poker games, but the entry for Ameristar just says 'nothing good', and Golden Gates isn't even listed. Is it really that bad for VP there? Are there any reasonable games in the area?

I'm coming from Dallas where the nearest blackjack is on reservations in Oklahoma with antes and weird rules. Is blackjack in Blackhawk standard Vegas rules, or is there something different I need to know about? Is there surrender?

Craps in Oklahoma is a weird variant with cards instead of dice (however, I still see TJ Cloutier at them often so maybe it doesn't bother the die-hards). Is craps in Blackhawk standard rules with standard dice?

I don't see any internet threads for baccarat in Colorado at all. Is it not legal? Is it is, what are the rules? What is the minimum to touch the cards like at the Palazzo in Vegas?

Thanks... any help is appreciated.

I'm choosing the 'heart' icon for this thread because I love colorado.

Blackjack rules in CO seems decent overall. It is not riddled with 6:5 like Vegas is, unless you like to play single deck.

Most BJ games in the area seem to allow re-splitting aces, no surrender, double after split, double any two, and hit soft 17.

Golden Gates and Golden Mardi Gras are the only casinos in Blackhawk which offer late surrender on their six deckers. HE on these games is .46% Other casinos have surrender on their single deckers, but those games are 6:5.

Saratoga has an S17 game. HE on this game is .41%

Outside of BlackHawk there are some good games. Westwood in Cripple Creek has a single decker with liberal rules for a HE of only .06%. It's almost a fair game if you play perfect basic strategy.

Unfortunately the maximum bet across the state seems to be $100. This applies to all games.

Work the good vp for mailers with freeplay. Analyze every vp progressive for potential exploitability.
