You can't count cards with a continuous shuffle.

Although I wouldn't just rush off and try it if I were you. Counting cards is a delicate skill, and a few mistakes and you have no edge or are in fact playing at a disadvantage. It is crucial to hone your skills carefully through considerable practice before risking real money.

No, live can be counted if it uses a 6 or 8 deck shoe and isn't shuffled until the shoe is mostly depleted. Online games without a live dealer shuffle after every hand, making counting impossible. And those with a live dealer usually have poor penetration, meaning the shoe gets shuffled when half of it is left, making counting a lot less effective. If they didn't do this, the game would quickly get killed by counting bots.

As for one multi-player hand, using the visible cards on the table to count for that hand isn't enough information to matter unless you are last in a single deck game, which I doubt even exists.

I would say 4/8 is an industry standard. Cutting the shoe mid way eliminates most of the really favourable situations for the player, which almost always occur towards the end of the shoe. The rules are also usually not that great. A lot of games are ENHC and / or forbid doubling after split and/or resplitting of any pair.

They actually have noncontinuous shuffle games online? Wouldn't it not be hard to have a computer program count for you?

Yes "live dealer blackjack". Many online casinos offer this. They hook up real dealers dealing from real shoes to webcams basically.

Observe the frequency and extent of the advantage of positive count situations in a shoe with 4 of 8 dealt. Conclude you are wasting your time.

Im curious on this. But let say you count but of course they reshuffle after half the deck. Say you are betting the minimum. Then you notice the count is very good.

If you start betting big amounts, do they notice or care? For example if you bet minimum 10 dollars. Then later on notice the count is very good then start betting 100 or 200, do they care or notice? Or they dont because they know you have no edge due to they shuffle the deck halfway. Now im assuming if you do say a small spread they wont care since there is no advantage. But what about someone that does huge spread? Or let say its someone that all they do is observe different tables. Then once its a high count they start betting big... then stop betting once its bad etc.

If you win enough they will eventually back you off but for the most part they are not sweating it because there is so much blackjack whale action out there. Also there is a degree of separation, the people running the games aren't the people booking the bets. They are just running the games and selling that service to the online casinos, which are booking the action. One nice thing though is you can get match deposit bonuses for some of these live dealer games, so you deposit $100 and the casino gives you $100 to play with right away so you start off playing with 200. They have insane roll over requirements (often 200x) but since you have the edge that's not really the end of the world.

But I know of at least one decent live dealer game with two decks cut off out of eight. Still a far cry from some of the good blackjack games you can find at brick and motor casinos, but it's a playable game. I found true counts of 6 & 7.

Is it possible to observe the table without betting, then only join in when you like the count? AKA "Wong In" and "Wong Out"

Pardon me if this is a stupid question. I've never played live dealer online.

yes you can back count ad infinitum. some places it kicks you off the table if you don't bet for 3 or 4 rounds but you can just snap rejoin. afaik this draws no heat. they also have a version where there is only one player hand, but everyone gets to play it, but you are not bound by the decisions other people make. it's actually quite nice because you get to play through the entire shoe as if it were heads up.

it is painfully slow though. almost invariably B&M games are a better gamble unless you are somewhere like western europe where the games are all terrible.

also some of the dealers will chat / flirt with you.
