Interesting Double Deck Rule..How to Optimize?

So there's a chain of mini casinos in the greater Seattle area that offer the following Double Deck rules:

H17, DAS, No resplitting aces, No Surrender
You add and reduce any number of hands in the middle of the shoe.

I'm newer to counting and using the hi/lo system. Been putting in some sessions and trying to figure out how to fully take advantage of this play. When the count was >+4 I would go from one hand to two at two units each.

I got no heat during the 6 hour session.

You'd never get heat for that anywhere.

4:1 is too small a spread for double deck. You're not going to do much better than break even. I would go to 2 x 2 units at + 2, or so, and 2x4 or 2x 5 at +4.

Unless the penetration is well over 50%, you're probably wasting your time.

It's not a terrible game. Here are a couple of 250k hand simulations I ran using Wizards double deck strategy, half deck cutoff, true +4 insurance, 1 to 4 spread at true +4, and 1/4 deck accuracy for running/true count. I used a single player playing heads-up just for speed.

Sorry, I noticed the double 8 against 6 -- that was not Wizards strategy. Here are three runs using the correct strategy.

Also with doubling 9 v 2, and insurance turned on. I'm getting tired.

haha oh my god card counting has got to be the most brutal thing. each of those graphs is seriously 250k hands? that's what, like a year of play? that's rough...

The results are in units with a 1-4 spread, and there's a lot of improvement that could be made in strategy -- but, yes, a years play is what I was shooting for.

ah, okay. i assumed it would be between 1-8 and 1-10 or something. i guess that's pushing it for a double deck game in most places though.

Yes -- you need monitor those and make sure there's a separate BR backing them. They look so natural you have to do it -- it's the same as shadow betting a separate BR

That's interesting -- how much do you give up by waiting until +4 to increase your betting? (assume that you're not worried about them noticing)

I was simulating OP's strategy -- and possibly not even doing that well, as a careful reading of the post says he would wait until +5 -- but I assumed that was an error. There's a lot of room for improvement there -- I was just showing that it is a winning game as described.

Re: Interesting Double Deck Rule..How to Optimize?

I'm in Seattle right now, new to the area, and the only casino I've tried so far has 2D H17 NDAS with about 1 1/4 decks pen. Is there a (free) listing of Seattle area casinos that offer blackjack, together with a list of rules?
