Which should I grind for Comps/Points? Which should I grind for Comps/Points?

Curious as to see in a very basic sense, which is better to grind...

1c-5c slot machines (Max bet ~3-5$ a spin)

25c-50c VP ( Have a very basic knowledge (THANKS SJ) of "correct" play, which I'm sure I'll still mess up on and ultimately cost me $ in both the sense of actual dollars and points, etc)

Table Games (Craps/BJ/Roullette being the 3 i'm most comfortable with)

Back story : Going to Vegas in 2 weeks, staying at Harrahs. I live in NJ, visit AC about 5-6 times a year, depending on finances, etc... Usually play cards, but dabble 1-2 times a trip on some pit game, and usually put in 2-300 into the penny slots , grinding points more than anything else.

I've heard that VP is the easiest way to grind points (TR Points, etc)... truth, fiction, etc?

Thanks for the help.

You should probably so a little research into the specific program you're using.

One important thing you need to to know, and you don't seem to, is whether the benefits you'll get from the program are worth to you the expected loss you're paying in your "grinding."

seems like a bad idea to try to grind points. Just go and play and have fun. If this is your first trip or you don't have players cards then do some research and see who gives you what for a new card. For example we went to the Wynn last year and my wife didn't have a players card so she signed up for one and the had some great new player promos. When we achieved 500 points they gave us 2 buffet tickets (awesome buffet, $40 a person) $10 free play, and a spin on the wheel which we won another $25 free play. It was much better than sticking to say just harrahs to try and earn a few points for not much of anything.

True the paytables are better in AC... The are also better in California at Harrah's Rincon... I am not 100% sure about Rio in Vegas because I hear that property has better VP... But caesars, the pay tables are kinda weak at lower levels (where I normally stay)...

Slots you will earn more points faster, but, there is no guarantee you will hit anything... Although, there is no guarantee you will hit anything on VP, the structure of the game you have more understood chance of getting some / most of your money back or a profit...

I hope a beginners Royal is headed your way!

All - Thanks for the feedback. I'm currently set with players cards for TotalRewards, etc... Just curious as to, if i'm just killing time waiting for people to get ready for Dinner, shows, etc.. staying at Harrahs... What may get me the most "tier points or credits" in the shortest amount of time... Figured it would be slots, but wasn't sure ...

If your just killing time then yes slots will give you the most points for sure. Check with the players club or their website to see if they have 5x points days or happy hours where points are doubled. If you try the tables unless your playing more than 25 a hand you won't get anything and a lot of casinos are starting to give less rewards on VP as well.

Just remember multlier days only multiply your comp dollars not tier score. Getting a tier score to get you a diamond you will get free show offers and all kinds of free gifties plus free rooms when ever you want... won't need to use comp dollars for that stuff...

Shortest time, I would play $5 wheel of fortune. Its 2 credits a spin so 10 bucks, but since it is a slot you get two tier points per push ($5 a point on slots).

But, varience is higher,

But if you are going to do that, you are better off grinding $2 video poker for twice the amount of time, you will lose less
