Just a general question to everyone out there about who is into Forex. I would like to know which program you prefer and why.

I am just starting to get into this subject and any help would be deeply apreciated.

Short answer is to short the dollar -- but against what?

What I dislike about the forex is when you ENTER a trade...........your in a whole (because of the spread). So you have to make

a) a profit to break even

AND

b) a greater profit to SEE any NET profit

And when you make a TRADE.........you are trading OTHER traders..........just like in poker. The only ones who are guaranteed to win is the BROKERS becuase they get their SPREAD..........just like the casinos taking a RAKE in poker.

The problem is that the "good players" in this game work for huge corporations that provide all the computerized resources they could imagine. Some guy sitting in his living room reading the news is surely going to end up the fish.

I use to be a commodities broker so we dealt with forex a little. Personally with the pip+commission i really dont see how anyone can be plus ev trading it. Most people dont' realize it, but commissions on futures and forex is terrible. Unlike stocks where you can make the commission a smaller percentage of each actual stock by buying more stocks per trade, commission on futures and forex is going to occur on each and every position you have regardless of how many you take.

So if you are looking to trade forex my best advice to you is to find a company with the lowest pip and commissions and an acceptable software platform. Software platforms are cool but none are cool enough to make up for a bad commission rate.
