We definitely have that here in Florida too.

You are talking about when a "corporation" or third party is backing a table game like 3 card at a poker room, correct? Here an LLC can form to back a table game, let the house deal and take a rake, and the LLC has to collect (or make good) on all bets.

It has slowly become more popular since 2014 on the West coast of Florida.

The idea being that in California you cannot play "against the house". The house cannot have an "advantage" like they do in all tables games like those you see in Nevada casinos.

So a "corporation" plays against the players. They play perfectly, and thus have the edge vs the other players. They too, like the players, pay juice. But long term still make a profit.

But only card rooms. Indian casinos can have house-backed games.

Yeah, and it's basically illegal. Any player can, in turn, bank the game. I've heard of people wanting to take the bank, and being pressured to stop doing so. It's good old fashioned criminal thuggery.

In the legit big name rooms? I can't imagine either the house or the corporation risking it. Most players aren't going to have the funds or want the variance that comes with taking the bank so I wouldn't think the corporation would care much and for the house they really don't care who is banking.

Blackjack players are so rude to anything they dont like. So im sure the corporate guys have their ways of making sure you have a bad time.

Most places will only let you bank 2 hands and then the bank returns to the corporation and they play 2 and so on and so forth.

Even if the player banking doesn't have the funds to cover all the action the corporation will cover the action not paid by the player-banker.

It can happen, if you are perceived to be chasing the bank. That is, if you are very aggressive about wanting to bank as much action as possible, for example, by trying to get other players to bank so that you can put up most of the money on their spot.

These games exist entirely in/because of grey areas, so there's a lot of marginal stuff going on. But, on the other hand, most customers just want the game to run quickly and smoothly.

If you just make your bets, then bank your two turns, you're extremely unlikely to run into problems.

There's an old gambling with an edge podcast with a guy who started one of the first corporations. Pretty good listen.

Correct. And also do not have to abide by the same regs and standards as a real casino. I've even seen JUICE on wins in a regular game of 21 in Indian casinos. Juice with a house built edge already!

Or slots, they don't have to run the same % paybacks as say LV casino's.

I don't know what a "big name" room is. I'm talking about M8trix.

M8trix and the corporation are basically in bed together. The city of San Jose and other regulators were unhappy at the lack of arms length between them, but didn't go far enough imo.

Well, that is one of the reasons Swallow had his owner's license revoked and fined $13.7 million.

Moving to Other Gambling Games so discussion of house-banked/corporation-banked games can continue.

Can someone explain banking to me? I know in San Diego, in Casino's (non corporate ones) like Seven Mile or Ocean's 11, the dealers carry chips, there is a dude always sitting there watching the play at each table.
