Hi all--I am new to counting, and have been playing around with hi lo and the opt variations for a little while, and understand the basics.

I am confused on the knockout system--i first read that by starting at -4/deck, this corrects for the need to calculate the true count (sacrificing some accuracy). However, my blackjack app is still dividing by the remaining decks when I practice with that system.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

Probably a glitch in the app. KO is an unbalanced count that alleviates having to adjust for the TC. So there would be no conversion.

Never used it myself, but heard it's not bad.
