Um, yeah, the sarcasm in my post should have been obvious. Or was to anyone who has seen me post before.

Corollary: When one person leaves the hot table, leaving room for you to squeeze in, that person will have correctly predicted the end of the hot roll.

Re: Best strategy for Craps?

Just turned $100 into $500 at Fallsview on my way home from my 2 week road trip through the states out east. Threw down $100 thinking nothing of it, when the dealer tells me it's 10 min. My $5 bet was already out there since that table is always 5 min, but yesterday was a holiday so I guess that's why they raised it.

My Roll saw a point being made and then being 7'd out but then it went on a super heater. The guy to my left must have made over 6 points, two 4s, two 10s and a couple 6s and 8s. The beauty was that he kept hitting 6s and 8s in between. His roll probably made the table over $3k. It was the biggest roll I've ever seen a shooter play, and I've played craps in 7 different casinos on dozens of occasions.

I was sitting almost $250 up when he 7'd out, and was considering leaving after the next shooter's first bad roll, but the next guy was almost as good. He made about four 5 points in a row and with a few 6s and 8s in there as well he made me another $200. When he finally 7'd out as well and I was sitting just at $500, I was out. a $400/hourly rate is good enough for me and this table was sure to get cold.

Feels nice to have a big chunk of our trip paid for

Re: Best strategy for Craps?

Just curious what people think of this.

I was playing craps today. I was only playing pass with odds and on occasion I was playing the field. So I have a $5 bet on the field and the shooter throws a 6. The dealer forgot to pick up the bet. The next throw was a 10 and the dealer pays me. I leave the $5 there and the next throw is a 4. The dealer didn't me so I said something and his response was. "I see you are willing to say something when you win but when you lose you don't say anything. Since I forgot to pick up the 6 a few rolls ago we are even"

What am I too think about this. Should I have said something. I just let it slide because he was right, he didnt pick up a bet that lost and I did notice. It made me feel quite uncomfortable so I left.

Re: Best strategy for Craps?

That's horrible on the dealer's part and very standard on your part imo.

That said it's probably not right to really do anything about it.

I'd put it this way though...if a cop doesn't give you a ticket when you were speeding (and you say nothing...obviously) should he then not do his job when you get mugged (and you go report it obviously)? Who is behaving poorly in that situation him or you? Dealer was way, way, way in the wrong. Was basically incompetent twice and inexcusably rude once. You simply didn't trouble yourself on a hand that didn't concern you (and why should you, you are the patron there to have a good time and relax) and did on a hand that did.

That's my view anyway.

i'm definitely immediately saying something like, "Boxman, this dealer won't pay off my winning bet, look its right there on the field and shooter just threw a 4".

If the dealer wants to hold up the game to explain why he won't pay off the winning bet due to his prior incompetance, so be it. Odds are, boxman is just gonna tell him to pay you and move things along.

Re: Best strategy for Craps?

Yep. Dealers mistake. At the session I had at Fallsview (mentioned above) a situation came up (can't remember the specifics) where the dealer paid me a green and 3 reds rather than 4 reds. So she overpaid me $20. I almost immediately realized, but by the time I confirmed with myself the shooter was rolling again. The funny thing is the look on the dealer's face suggested she realized she f**ked up but it's her mistake - she can't ask for chips back once they're in my stack

She can take the chips back. She just probably didn't want her supervisor to know that she messed up.

Maybe in the casino that you personally own this is the rule. Not in any other.

Re: Best strategy for Craps?

Hm well I didn't know this was a rule, but yes I imagine in most cases they just let it slide
