Did anyone ever play at this site back in the late 90's??
Was going through my fathers old records and found a bunch of papers where he had made a bunch of deposits totaling 90k!! Aparently he had cashed out over 180k before it crashed in the early 2000's. Couldnt find much on the internet about the site apart from a wikipedia article about the massive fraud.
Anyone know anything about it or play on it ? Sites dead now i see...
Just going to post the wiki article for ****s and giggles if anyone cares...don't really get what its about but seems like a very strange/sketchy "game" to put 90 thousand dollars into.
Jesus. I mean, who *wouldn't* put $90,000 into virtual companies run by Russians with rules that let them arbitrarily retroactively change your investments?
Bigger question is, why did they let your dad cash out double his initial deposit? Most scam sites would only process small withdrawals, never anything of that magnitude.
I think the biggest ponzi's paid out more to initial investors then they took in though it encouraged others to invest larger and larger amounts when the ROI's remained high for years...Lock Poker probably paid out some large sums early on only to get bigger despositors later. Also prossibly a lot of the early game players lost money and covered the money his dad won.
This is all complete speculation on my part didn't even fully read the wiki article.
