You don't make the bet until you're very deep in the shoe.

That doesn't mean anything. Where i work there are quite a few people who play less than 10% of hands dealt. Unlimited free hands.

If that "strategy" was actually feasible, then there would be actual success stories, however after playing for 3 years, I have seen nothing but broke, desperate and stupid degenerates who lost everything.

But I'm pretty sure the guy who said the game is beatable wasn't thinking of this side bet at all.
Exactly.

Along with Dragon Bonus there are additional countable side bets as Fortune 7, Panda, pairs bonus and some others.

In some very very rare circumstances also the tie bet will provide an astounding return, a thing already mentioned here by another member.

There is no point to publicly tell the world how exactly the job could be done, most of the time serious side bettors form a sort of an "invisible" team.

The deck penetration is the best countermeasure made by casinos to prevent such strategies but 99% of the times they won't cut more than 25-30 cards from the play. And any player can see how many cards are burnt just at the start of the shoe.
Not surprisingly and almost with no exception, online sites regularly offer shallow penetration baccarat shoes.

Yeah on Monday at Chips Casino, in the beginning of the shoe there were 9 players, 8 ties, and 7 bankers, with a total of 24 hands...

@Bighurt52235,

Are you a dealer of baccarat at one of the casinos or a poker dealer or both?

I don't deal poker.

isn't Baccarat, as far as non-poker is concerned, the only game in the casino that the player doesn't get slaughtered at?

In terms of house edge: craps (line bet with odds), BJ, and video poker have slightly lower house edge (assuming perfect BJ and VP strategy).

What about midi Baccarat, where you can touch the cards and flip ?

They have that at one of the local casinos south of Seattle off of Interstate 5. There you can touch the cards, bend the cards, and so forth. Some people rip the cards when they get pissed...

Pretty sure all the casinos around here offer that now. Leastwise I don't know of any that don't off the top of my head.

In all seriousness, baccarat is a great illustration of the gambler's fallacy. In an eight deck shoe, even if you count the cards perfectly you will pretty much end up losing. The past results of the hands do not impact the next hand to come out of the shoe, so no betting system based on past results will work over the long run. Great explanation here: http://vegasclick.com/gambling/fallacy

Some people will tell you that just betting the banker bet every time is the way to go; however, even that won't be profitable in the long run because of the house taking a commission on banker wins.

To my knowledge, I am the only person who has developed a system of beating baccarat profitably over the long term using the rules and odds as they currently exist in just about every US casino. The reason? I play the odds and do not base any prediction on the previous outcome.
How comes that ?

A lot of people win in this game. Let's say someone buys in for $500. Most cash out at $700 or more then leave. They rarely play hands and get free points by being in the game.

Wonder how much the smaller card rooms lose in baccarat. The ones that have unlimited free hands and the max bet per spot is $300.

I've seen several people cash out $9000 or more where $7000 of that is profit...

I've seen several people cashing out $900.000 or more where $700.000 of that is profit, yet more proportional times cashing out zero but a business airfare, a suite and a lot of high end free meals.

And they would bet very very rarely.
