I dunno. I don't see it taking off. I would probably scrap the idea. I think if you just made a personal blog and just "steal" stories and played them off as your own true experience. Become an excellent writer (maybe tucker max or cracked.com style) and write in a humorous style. Maybe add some pictures. relevant gifs. Pics of hot women (this is key) maybe MS paint stuff (kind of played out tho) you could probably do pretty well in 2 years. (I'll consider 4 figures a month a huge success, even a couple hundred ain't bad considering it didn't cost you anything except time.)

I just remembered that I have an acquaintance who's a bartender and he used to bring home girls all the time for the sexytime. He had roomates and they would obviously hear what was going on.

After a while, they started recording the activities just to compare and contrast how loud, strange, and different the noises were from girl to girl. I've heard a few of them, it was sorta crazy how some women sounded during sexytime.

Just imagine if that guy made a blog posted his adventures and actually posted those clips (legal trouble? seems like it would be hard to sue as you can't really tell who it is as it's just a woman moaning), he probably could have made a ton money if he done it right.

we came up with an idea for compliments exchange platform, that even has the opportunity for people to make money just by making good compliments. this is barely an mvp so a lot of things will change according to feedback.
please take a look at the thread and let us know what you think!

If you guys search through this thread, you might remember my idea of a futures market for people. In essence, a person could get a set amount of money today, in exchange for X of taxable income in the future X years.

I even thought about paying someone on oDesk to code this up for me, but instead of making a huge capital investment, my twist on it would be that my site is a documentation intermediary between the backers and the person being backed. So the person being backed would have to submit a copy of their tax return and based on that they would have to make a certain payment to the people backing that person...

Anyway, it looks like my idea is coming true, although the exact funding scheme is a bit different. They already funded 40 people for a total of 500,000.

I actually like my funding scheme better. I prefer being a market maker instead of taking on this risk myself.

Check it out.

I posted an idea a few months ago about a new feature for dating sites where you can anonymously declare interest in someone and only if the other person does the same both of them get informed that they are interested in each other. Never got a response from op. I think the only response i got was from you and one other guy who said he liked it.

One month later a guy on reddit made a thread about his facebook app which does exactly what i described in my post for the dating site feature.

I asked Op several times to say what he thinks about it. Never got a response. Maybe its because my low post count/join date i dont know. Im actually a long time member but my other account went lost when 2+2 got hacked.

Please respond this time to my new post op. Or other people here.

edit: I want to get into the internet business so bad im full of ambition and ideas and I think the internet has still so much room for new stuff. So many great websites could be out there that arent out there yet. I just need a partner to get this started!

I think my roomate showed me this app the other day, it shows you friends of your facebook friends (based on some sort of weak algo for common interests) and if you like them it puts you higher in their queue if they like you back then you get an e-mail saying what your common interests are and asking if you want to meet up with the other person...

There have been various apps for FB that do that -- the most recent being Bang with Friends.

I don't think it is good idea for FB but it is a much better venue than a dating site for something like that. The reason it is better for FB is that you have really young people who this will appeal to and the primary function of FB is not dating.

The reason I don't see it as being a good feature for dating sites is that the reason everyone is there is to meet someone to date. Not having the balls to contact someone directly on a site specifically designed for that makes the guy very unattractive to girls -- nobody wants to date someone who is too shy to even send a direct signal of interest over the internet. As such I don't see it working on a dating site.

my post about that idea was in july 2012. Show me one app like this that was out there at that time. And as mentioned i never got any feeback itt if its good or how to improve it (turning it into a facebook app would have been the solution as we can see now). And this bang with friends thing which launched in january 2013 had something like 5 new users per minute since they launched. Obv they did a great job with the product.

But just saying. I guess my idea was not worthless. Op never did what he promised itt and i through away an idea this way.

Itt they say that people underestimate the value of feedback and overestimate their idea. Well i think i had a good idea and got no feedback.

I just asked a mod to remove my post about my new idea. Didnt get any helpful feedback anyway other than doing it on my own which is actually a good tipp i guess and i will do it myself now. Definitley done with posting ideas on the internet.

very frustrated with this thread.

Trintme was still in beta in April of 2012 but they launched January 2012. That is pretty much dead on match for your idea https://www.trintme.com/

I got this idea from reading Nudge. It seems to have been huge in the US before the CC became so popular. Its so simple that I think it could be brilliant. The core of the idea is this (although you can obviously add some twists to it):
Let people give you $10 a week (or a different pre-set amount) from the half of november 2013. They are obliged to give you $10 every week and they can't reach it for an entire year (half a year maybe). After that year the money comes free and the person gets the total amount he saved.
It might sound stupid for americans I'm not sure, but I pitched this to some dutch friends of mine and they all said they would do it. Just because they are so bad at saving money makes them interested (altough they said they would do it from june to june, to save up for their holiday but thats obviously possible as well).

What do you guys think?

I had an idea just like this a while back.

Actually asked a few people to code it for me but they said they were too busy or wanted like 10k I didn't have.

Mine is a little different then this.
And might still work even though there are other sites doing it.
Mine has a twist too it.

The one problem with most of them is that you need permission to see other peoples friends...not all people give it and once people realize everyone is just cruising more people might start blocking.

Why would I want to give someone 10$ a week? what do I get?

You get nothing but your money back in the end. Its just a way of saving, which can be very hard for people

Banks did this as a "Christmas fund" ... automated savings vehicle through the year after each paycheck. Others simulate the same by intentionally having income taxes taken out slightly higher than necessary to get the rebate in a lump sum.

In before Henry's rant about inefficient savings practices by the weak willed in society ...

While that is true the weak willed are a large demographic.

My issue is how would you make money from this?

Micro-transactions have fairly steep costs so taking 52 transactions is going to get expensive relative to the amount of money involved. You'd need to not only recover those but also just the general costs of having the site. So how would money come in?

Okay I sort of get it.

I thought the idea was to nudge people...I'll give you 10$ a month if you save at least the same amount...like maybe parents for kids...the rule you can't take it out till the end of the year still applies.

i.e. double the incentive to save.

Plus when you make it a gift it is easier to charge a service fee of say 10$ (1month) which would help increase the revenue/lower the cost ala henry...

plus you could always have the option to gift yourself

another spin on it...call it CROWD SAVING ....

make it so like 4 people (the more the better) could get together...give money instead of birthdays/xmas gifts...

you basically save what you give...

like say you got 10 people....at the end of the year you would have 1200 (minus a small fee) but you didn't spend any money on other gifts....

seriously sign me up

Are you serious? the costs of automatic payments at my bank are 2 euro's per batch.. If you got a decent amount of costumers that nothing.. Having a site can be costly, but overhead costs won't get bigger when the company grows so i think that will only be a problem in the first period and you need some capital to catch that up..

I get 2,5% on my savings account already. If amounts get bigger you will be able to getter bigger interest and you could also look at relatively safe investments..

Heh I missed out on a pretty important part, the fact that it is 8 cent per payment as wel.. On a $10 payment this is .8%, which is pretty huge yea.. Might only accept monthly donations then..
