I'm mostly seeing it as an opportunity for a quick flip. Long term, I'm very bearish on any system that is based on PoS (Ethereum included).
Tezos tokens should be on exchanges in 4-6 months after ICO ends. That's plenty of time for some good PR and FOMO to buid up (especially with all the negative feedback of late which will discourage some of the smaller players from investing). There's a good chance they launch at a 1-2 billion initial market cap.
Using ETH is likely fine, but since the team is selling funds during the ICO, there may be heavier slippage with ETH than BTC, although I'm not sure what price you get locked in at so that might be worth an ask on their subreddit. Also, I recommend to not believe too much of what the people on Ethtrader subreddit say. They're generally on the fishier side of things.
