Ethereum don't even have a malleability problem to fix. Raiden(Ethereum's LN) almost done and physical demos were available 6months ago, to the moon?

Tezos predictions?

Seems to me that we want it to do well (for exposure/legitimacy purposes) but not TOO well. Is that right?

Why do you say not too well? I think they raise over 200mm

Everyone is taking about tezos.

Maybe I need to read up about it before the launch...

Well I don't know much so this is more me asking you than telling you

But my thinking was that an investor would want it to do be somewhat under the radar, so as to not have too many Tezos produced, but do well enough so that they raise enough capital and get their ecosystem jumpstarted. In the flip side, if they do too well - let's say they raise 1billion - it is overvalued now. Is that correct line of thinking ?

So something like 300-400 would be ideal for an initial investor?

Makes sense. If its too high on the coin market cap chart, then it'll be overvalued. But too small and it lacks the large community it requires. Sweet spot being 100-200m?

Bitcoin and ethereum are 28 and 8bn respectively.

It seeks to rival those in the blockchain space. So even if it gets to 5bn cap, a 500mm raise is still 10x

Seems rational, but DOGE is up 5x this year being the steaming pile of nonsense that it is.

Its kind of interesting that the Tezos founders have such a revolutionary concept (decentralized/transparent funding of development) and yet the initial development is so cetnralized/opaque (i.e. they are raising a ton of money right off the bat in an uncapped ICO that is expected to raise 100s of millions of dollars). I think it is a great idea but would have liked to see more effort given to decentralization in Tezos's infancy as well...

I guess what I am saying is that I read the white paper and thought that it is a great idea (although the devil with these kinds of ideas is always in the details). However, I keep coming back to that uncapped ICO in a particularly frothy time in cryptos in general. It just seems so against the entire spirit of the project...

Thoughts?

I don't know **** about these ICO's, but here's my question. How does "new ground breaking" **** pop up like every week now? How the **** did they develop anything? It took years for ethereum and it's not even done and now every joe blow has the next thing popping up constantly.

That's thing thing, must of them aren't developed and are just whitepapers with their idea. They are total moonshots and most will fail.

But if you look at ethereum it was the same thing. Buy crowdsale July 2014, not released until July 2015. Since then it is almost 400x.
