The most maddening aspect of r/btc is their belief that they understand Jihan/Bitmain's intentions.

BU is nothing but a trojan, Jihan never intended at any point to use BU at a fork, even if that was his original intention. It is simply a placeholder to signal the miners' intention to hardfork.

Youve been lied to and misled by Roger Ver and Jihan the entire way. And now that Jihan is losing control of his narrative, it is becoming more and more clear that r/btc was built to become a festering swamp of imbeciles and rubes to disseminate dissent.

There are two kinds of altcoins. Those that have died, and those that will die.

It's funny, that list of alts contains almost all the ones I first learned of when I got in the scene in early 2014:

Doge, Lite, Peer, Aurora, Quark, Vert...thankfully steered clear of them for the most part.

Anyone have any recommendations for Coin-Exchanges that allow leverage/shorting?
Currently using Gemini and GDAX/Coinbase and only GDAX allows for shorting coins.
Been taking the approach of spreading my risk-out across various exchanges and am in need of another that allows for shorting (don't want to load a bunch of money into GDAX).

Thanks.

People on reddit/btctalk have guessed there is some chance Coinbase adds Monero in the next couple of months.

Here's what we know:

1) Brian Armstrong posted poll on twitter asking which coin Coinbase should add next. XMR was in the top 3
2) Fluffypony visits Coinbase hq to give presentation in Jan. Vitalik also visited CB last March and they added ETH 3 months later. Only other coins that have had presos at CB from what I can find are Augur and Decred.
3) This month, one of the Coinbase PMs wrote a primer on Medium about Monero. Only other coin she has made a post about is Ethereum.

Wonder if they plan on building it on Ethereum. Weird how they won't say. Would be pretty disappointed if they used something else.

Part of me feels like they are loading up on something else then going to announce they are building on that. Can't think of any other reason why they won't say.

It will be ethereum, rootstock or their own blockchain. I don't see them using anything else currently out there.

Your right, everything points towards adding Monero. They might as well become a full blown exchange if they are going to be having polls on what coin to add next. Guessing they load up and then sell the rumor/news to make extra cash.

They probably just don't want to have to track people gambling/buying drugs anymore so they'll suggest Monero.

Do you guys know any techniques or ways of finding if an alt-coin is about to experience a pump, or a dump?

Where are the secret forums for this?

Same place as the secret forums for finding if a stock will pump or dump.

Really its just people with a lot of money that try to pump something, hope others will follow the rise, and then they sell

Does anyone else have issues depositing to coinbase/GDAX via bank wire recently? Getting "sent" confos from my bank but still 3+ hour delay the past few times I've tried (yes included the recipient instructions).

An additional 10% of the block reward starting from Metropolis will be directed to our shareholders at AXA and the Bilderberg group. This change is permanent.
lol

Quote:
We will allow miners to specify the block reward that they want to pay themselves, and allow users to specify in their clients the maximum block reward that they are willing to consider valid. If a user sees a chain containing blocks with rewards larger than their maximum accepted block reward, they will not accept the chain at first, though if such a chain becomes 12 blocks longer than the longest chain that the user does accept then the client will automatically increase its maximum accepted block reward to accept the new chain. This allows for a more fair, market-based and democratic way of setting the issuance rate.
I'm not sure I understand everything but that's a troll of BU, right?
