lol

dogecoin at 180+ satoshi atm, was heavily pumped up to 290+ a couple of days ago but things have calmed down since. Some big players have entered the exchanges and things went wild for some time. Pretty fun.

Still 3 weeks or so until block halving, I wonder how it'll affect the currency.

Mooncoin has been skyrocketing... but I don't see anything major in the news online about what's been going on.

Anyone know what's caused this recent surge in Mooncoin's price?

It just hit Cryptsy, one of the major altcoin exchanges. I guess people are stocking up hoping to dump it ASAP, the coin doesn't really have any lasting appeal at all.

most altcoins are good just for pump and dumps. if you are willing to play that game, buy mooncoin on strength, thrn dump it as soon as it shows weakness. doesnt matter if it coild have risen higher... just take your profit and be out.

Ethereum looks good and they are based out of Toronto which is where I am. May go to a meetup next week.

looks like the ripple forumites fear this project. a couple of people were quick to call etheruem vaporware. that reaction made me more interested in the project.

or maybe the falling price of xrp is making them cranky. haha

watch xrp closely. it might be a good opportunity to get in cheap.

ethereum according to a user named "datz"

"Crowdfounding starts in 7 days meaning the founders begin fundraising and expect the crowd to code the platform. So yes, the protocol is not built or coded yet, thus "vaporware"."

"I agree they could be successful, but at what cost? All they did was look at what is happening in the Ripple community and say, "how can we market this better and convince the world this is us?" This is really a greed proposition - they are taking funding from people who actually made investments of years in these concepts and have built products on them. They are planning on using the crowd to do their dirty work and take profits for doing nothing. This is a morality criticism above all else."

I don't mine. I only buy. Where's the best place to buy a whole bunch of different alt coins? My current market only has BTC, LTC, PPC.

Do you buy and trade them or do you keep for long term? Was thinking about buying the cheaper coins to trade for some small profit.

Maybe you can try reddit but it could be dangerous.

I just want to buy and trade. Look at graphs, try to find trends, buy low/sell high type thing. Would prefer an exchange where this process can be done quick and easily. Not into trading directly with others via paypal, etc.

I also really know nothing, just want to do it for fun and try to make some coin. (pun intended)

Yea Eth is taking a lot of **** about wanting to raise $24,000,000 in an IPO.

Are you buying in? The # of coins received from IPO investments is 1.5X rate for the first week and declines with time.

The max market cap (assuming all IPO investments are bought during 1.5X period) directly after IPO will be $36,000,000.

Just skimmed the website, but it looks more for people who want to mine it.

for the people who aren't interested in mining, what sites (like Cryptsy, etc) will allow us to actually purchase Ethereum right when it launches?

EDIT: Just saw that the launch date actually deals with Crowdfunding Ethereum? I'm not sure I understand all this, lol its like 10 new tech concepts merged into 1.

Can someone make sense of the process that starts soon... do we crowdfund Ethereum with BTC and then get back Ethereum once they start trading at a later date?

AFAIK later on the coins will be available just like coins now. Seems you will be paying a premium if you enter the crowdfund. So just wait, or donate to crowdfund if you want to pay a premium to help the project.
