Is Vegas really that great of a place to live? I was just visiting a buddy of mine who moved out there, and the whole time I was out there I was thinking "Jesus Christ, I would not want to live here." Great food and entertainment, sure, and you can't argue with cost of living and taxes compared to California, but man, the weather is horrible and it's infested with white trash. I don't know if I could do it.

I've lived in a lot of places and Vegas is the place that I love the most. There's a lot of downsides and if you live there you'll very likely have to travel out a good bit but the weather, cost of living and culture are my absolute favorite.

It's a culture of semi-relaxed (compared to the east), everyone has hustles and lets everyone do their thing. The crime is real if that bothers you. Where else can you live in a 24/7 city for $30k/year? It's awesome.

Yeah different strokes for different folks I suppose. It just seems like a gaudy city that collects people who are down on their luck. I would think that living there would be a bit depressing. But I haven't really spent a lot of time there, so I'm sure if you have a good social network and a large disposable income it could be a lot of fun.
