WeChat is generating $1b+ annual profits. That's probably SNAP (or any other messenger)'s endgame.

I am not sure SNAP has the critical mass in any market that WeChat does in China to monetize with payment services and so on.

- acquire venmo, try to become the american version of WeChat

- try to build their own version of Magic Leap via spectacles, then dominate the industry of augmented reality that maybe becomes "the" thing 10 years from now.

Snap reports their first earnings report at the close today. Biggest number everyone will be looking at is user growth and DAU+MAU. I've seen reports calling for accelerating growth and even seen some with negative growth.

If I'm not mistaken, I do believe Snap counts their MAU numbers differently than FB and TWTR. (They do a rolling average over the quarter rather than last month of quarter count.)

Most of the people I've talked to that are super bullish on this stock don't own or trade any other stocks... or they were an IPO underwriter lol.
